Alex
I stormed out of the mall, almost in a jog. I didn't know if Emma was following me or not, but I didn't care, I didn't care about anything right then. I walked out to the car and turned behind me, Emma wasn't there, she didn't even care about me, all she cared about was Alex.
I unlocked the car and pulled out of the parking lot. I knew it was terrible to just leave Emma there, but I couldn't take it anymore. I knew that Elijah would probably find a way to take her home.
I drove all the way to my house, which wasn't that far, safely. I pulled in the driveway and slammed the door so hard I knocked the hula girl my mom had sitting on the dash, off. I walked inside and my mom was in the kitchen making something on the stove. "Hey Alex, how was the mall?" She asked me, strangely in a nice way.
"Terrible," I stormed into my room and slammed my door shut. I sat down on my bed and screamed into a pillow. My door opened and it was my mom.
"Are you okay?" She asked me and sat on the chair next to my computer.
"Yeah mom, I'm fine," I said.
"Alex, I am your mother and I can see right through that... What's wrong?"
"Nothing mom," I said.
"Alex, you can't keep your feelings bundled up inside, tell me what's wrong..." She looked at me, and I could tell that she really cared.
"It's... Emma," I said.
"What did she do to you?" She asked me.
"I like her, she likes another guy, the other guy is rubbing it in my face.... A whole bunch of crap," I tried to explain in the most simple way as possible.
"Oh, Alex, I'm sorry..." My mom said.
"It's... okay," I tried to hold in not crying.
"I'm making dinner," She said. I looked at her. When does she ever make dinner?
"What are you making?" I asked.
"Fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I've realized that I'm not getting anything done sitting in my room, we are going to live like a normal family. We are going to get this house cleaned up, and keep it cleaned. Your dad and I are going to join the gym and we will be having family dinner at six-thirty every night..."
"Really!" I said. This is amazing I thought to myself. It was the craziest thing ever, I couldn't believe that she was really going to do this.
"Yes, and we are going to get our front and backyard into tip-top shape too," She smiled. "I'm gonna finally get my flower garden!"
"That's great mom," I said, getting excited about my future.
"Yeah, so don't worry about Emma, just remember that girls will come and go, but you will always have your momma right here!" she sat up and pushed on my nose. What the heck?
"When is dinner going to be ready?" I asked.
"About fifteen minutes," She replied.
"Okay," I said and she walked out. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad. I was really happy about getting our family back together and everything better, but then there was Emma that just made me want to cry. Then, I broke down and I did, I cried for a really long time.
"Alex, dinner is ready!" My mom called to me, which felt like it had only been a second. I wiped my tears away and walked out to the kitchen. I grabbed a plateful of food, which looked really good. My mom tried to clean off the table in a quick fashion, and we sat down. My dad walked through the door.
"Hey honey, I'm home!" He smiled, I hadn't ever seen him smile before, it made me smile.
"Hello George, I made dinner," My mom said. My dad grabbed a plate of food and sat down with us at the table.
"Did your mom tell you about what's going on?" He asked me. I nodded my head. "good, are you okay with that?" He asked.
"I am more than okay with that!" I smiled. I will be okay with that, I know that somethings change, and change is good. And maybe having Emma out of my life will be apart of that change...
