Emma

I didn't want to go home, so I went to Alex's house. I ran in the door without knocking, having blurred vision, because of my tears. I ran into Alex's room, at least I thought it was his room and I fell on to him bed. He was at his desk on Facebook. "Emma, you scared the crap out of me, what's wrong?" He asked me breathing heavily. I sat there and cried. He sat right next to me. Alex's mom came in the room. and asked what was wrong.

"Nothing mom," Alex replied. She walked out and I sat up, my hair messy and all over my face. Alex did his best to fix it. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"Elijah," I replied.

"What about him?" He asked.

"He.. He was.. He was cheating.. He was cheating on me...." I burst into tears and Alex patted my back.

"I am so sorry Emma, you do not deserve that, one bit," He said.

"I just don't get it..." I said.

"Well, he is Elijah..."

"I know, and the worst part is, I should have listened to you..." I broke down even more and cried on his shoulder.

"I'll be right back..." Alex said to me. I nodded my head and after about seven minuted flat Alex came back and told me to follow him. He grabbed my arm and dragged me out into the living room. I looked, he had every sugary thing you could ever imagine out on the coffee table and ice cream. He had Rootbeer and a whole stack of comedy movies. I smiled. He led me to the couch and I started to munch on the candy. Alex popped in a movie and pressed play. We talked while the previews were on.

"How did you find out?" Alex asked.

"He was at the smoothie shack with her, I walked in and saw them," I wimpered.

"What did you say?" He asked me. I grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around myself.

"I dumped a strawberry smoothie on his head..." I said. He gave me a high-five and started to bust up laughing. "Then I ran here..."

"Why not home?" I asked.

"I don't want to talk to my parents, I want to talk to my best friend..."

"Well, thanks!" Alex said opening a Rootbeer and some ice cream. I grabbed a whole carton of it and started eating from it. The movie started and Alex's mom came in.

"Alex," She said.

"Yeah mom," Alex said back. I couldn't get over how amazingly thin she was.

"Are you going to practice?" She asked him. Crap, I forgot about him having practice!

"No mom, I'm staying right here and trying to make my best friend happy!" Alex looked proud, so did his mom.

"You are going to make one good husband," She smiled. "I'll call your coach, I'm sure he will understand." Then she walked away.

"Thank you," I said shortly.

"Of course," Alex said.

When the movie was over it was around eight o'clock and I sent a text to my parents telling them where I was. They sent back a smiley face. I couldn't help but laugh. "I hope you feel better Emma," Alex said to me as he put in another movie.

"Watching these movies help," I smiled.

"That's good," He smiled and sat back down. I looked at all the candy boxes that were on the table. They were almost all gone, we had both finished a carton of mint chocolate chip ice cream. I giggled.

"We are fatties!" I said.

"Hey, isn't that what girls do after a bad break up?"

"I guess so..."

"So, it's not only you!" Alex made me laugh.

"So looks like you and I can make plans to be doing this the night of the dance!" I smiled.

"Well..." Alex said.

"You did not get a date!" I said hoping that he didn't because then I would be at home, all by myself.

"No," Alex said.

"Then what?"

"Well, I was thinking..."

"What?"

"Emma, will you go to the dance with me?"

"That will be fun," I said. " I would love to be your date to the dance!"
