Emma
Helping Elijah with stuff ended after three days. It was ridiculous. I had to do everything from getting homework at the front of the room, to brushing his teeth in the morning. I was beginning to think that he was making me do it, just because I would.
We were sitting at lunch with a bunch of people one day when I made the biggest mistake of my life.
"Babe, you know what we should do today?" He asked me.
"What?"
"Take you to get your hair colored, I think it would look better, don't you guys?" He asked his friends. There were a lot of chatters and yesses.
"I don't think so," I said.
"No, it will look great!" Elijah smiled at me. Everyone was nodding their head and I choked under the pressure.
"Fine, I'll do it," I half smiled and everyone let out a whoop.
I took a picture of my new, black hair and sent it to Alex. He sent back a face that made it look like he was mad that I did it. I sighed and looked back into the mirror, Elijah had changed me so much. He got me to wear clothes that were all black and now my hair black? It was a little crazy, and it was hard to get used to. "Do you like it?" Elijah asked me. I took a deep breath.
"Well, It's going to be hard to get used to," is all I said back.
"Well I think it looks fantastic!" He pulled me close to him. I pulled away. "What?" He asked. I then walked out of the building. I texted Alex and told him to come pick me up, three blocks away from where the hair salon was.
Five minutes later I was sitting in the middle of Alex's living room sobbing at my hair color. I couldn't believe that I did it. "What made you do it?" Alex sat down with a plate of cookies and two glasses of milk, my favorite.
"Thanks," I said. "I don't know."
"Well you obviously do, because you did it," he looked at me and I grabbed a cookie.
"I choked under the pressure..." I said.
"Do your parents know?" Alex asked. I shook my head and started sobbing some more. "We are in for a pickle," Alex said. I then piled a bunch of cookies in my mouth. "And what's with the goth look?" He asked me.
"Elijah thought I would look better in it..." I said.
"Lordy B!" He said.
"I know, and my grades right now are at all C's, and last weekend Elijah, a few of his friends and I all went and grafittied a train..."
Alex looked at me and walked away into his room. I hoped he didn't think it was too crazy. He came back out and sat next to me.
"Are you serious?" He asked me.
"Totally serious..." I wept into my arm and Alex patted me on the back.
"Way to be bad, but did you really need to be that bad?" He asked me.
"Elijah is the one getting me to do it all!" I said.
"Well, don't you think that Elijah may be a bad influence?" He asked me.
"No," I said shortly, it's me, I just need to stop being like that..." I said.
"Okay," Alex said.
"Do you think it's time to tell your mom?" Alex asked. I nodded my head and looked at him.
"Will you come with me?" I asked.
"Sure," Alex said. He stood up and grabbed the plate of cookies. I grabbed one more before he could take them away and walk into the kitchen. I stood up too, and wiped away my tears. We walked out the door to walk to my house.
We got to my house in twenty minutes and I was afraid to walk through the door. I pushed Alex to go first. He walked to my moms room, where my mom was folding clothes. "Hello Mrs. Watson," He said. I was standing behind him, and behind the wall.
"Alex! I didn't even hear you come in!" She said.
"Yeah."
"Do you know where Emma is?" She asked Alex.
"Well, yeah and that's the thing, when you see her, you can't freak out..." Alex said. I couldn't see my moms face, but I could tell that she looked worried by the tone in her voice.
"What is wrong with her?" She asked. Alex looked at me and told me to show myself. I walked slowly, scared what I would be in store for. I looked at my mom straight in my eyes. She stared at me with her mouth wide open.
"What have you done?" She asked me.
"I decided to do something new?" I said in a doubtful way. I didn't know why I did it.
"Why, you ruined your beautiful hair!" She yelped, I didn't know how to reply.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"Who talked you into doing this?"
"No one," I said in the fear of her making me break up with Elijah.
"Well," She took a gulp. "If you like it that way, then... I guess you can keep it."
"Thank you," I said.
"Do you like it?" She asked me in a doubtful way.
"I don't know yet..." I said. "Do you like it?"
"I still don't know either..."
"What do you think dad will say?" I asked.
"I don't know..."
"Where is he?" I asked.
"He should be home anytime..."
Anytime?" I asked. A mere three seconds later I heard the door open and then it closed. I heard my dad's footsteps coming down the hall. I looked at him round the corner.
"Emma Renae Watson!"
