 Emma

I sat at lunch with Alex the next day. It was really nice to be able to eat lunch with him again. Elijah eventually came and sat with us. He sat right next to me with Alex across from us. "Hey babe," Elijah said to me and he kissed me on the cheek, as if to make Alex mad.

"Hey," I said back. Alex looked away.

"So as I was saying," Alex said. "We should have a movie night tonight." I looked at him and gave him an awkward stare, I knew that Elijah wouldn't approve.

"That's not gonna be possible," Elijah butted in. Alex sat really close to the table.

"And why is that?" He asked.

"I was hoping that Emma and I could go out to dinner, it's our two month anniversary," He smiled at me. I mouthed crap.

"Oh," Alex said.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Somewhere nice," He smiled. "Look pretty," He then walked away. I rolled my eyes.

"You know how many girls would love to be in your position?" Alex said to me.

"Well, they don't know the half of it..." I sighed. I didn't know if Elijah really liked me, or if he was just trying to show off and make half of the girls at our school jealous. Suddenly three girls from the student council walked to the front of the cafeteria.

"Attention everyone!" A girl named Claudia said. Everyone got silent and turned that way towards them. "Hello, okay, so as you all know, we are having a dance for the middle school, like a middle school prom!" Claudia finished before handing it over to Casey.

"The prom will be on May twenty-first, that is one month from now!" Casey said. Then she handed it over to Jamie.

"So, everyone buy your tickets! And start getting ready people!" She yelped and everyone started to cheer. It was our first school dance. Then they walked away and everyone went back to what they were doing.

"A dance?" I said.

"Seems like it..." Alex said. We dropped the conversation to keep it from being awkward.

"Do you think Elijah really likes you?" Alex asked me.

"Well... Yeah," I said.

"That doesn't sound very re-assuring.." Alex smiled.

"I know, but inside I know that he loves me, why would he have kept this relationship with me for so long?"

"True that!" Alex smiled.

"What do you think about us dating?" I asked.

"Do you want to know the truth?" Alex asked me.

"Of course," I said.

"Okay, I think it is a terrible idea, I think he is going to break your heart, and I don't want to see that happen, but as long as you are happy, I will keep my mouth shut..." Alex told me.

"Well, thank you," I said.

"You're welcome," Alex smiled.

"I wonder where he is talking me..." I said to Alex.

"Well, probably your favorite restaurant, if he even knows what it is..." Alex answered.

"Do you even know that it is?" I asked.

"Of course, the Italian Pit!" Alex said. He was right!

"Wow, you're right!" I smiled.

"Well, that's where I would take you, but that's just me..."

A girl named Kirsten came and sat right next to Alex.

"Hey Alex," she said in a flirty tone.

"Hey Kirsten," Alex replied.

"I like your hair, did you do anything new?" She asked.

"Well, I put gel in it?" Alex said confused.

"Well you should keep it that way, it looks great!" Then she walked away.

"Thanks," Alex drifted off then looked at me in a confused way.

"Did you not see that?" I asked him.

"See what?" I asked.

"She is totally digging you!" I smiled.

"Whoa, Emma, when did you start saying things like that? And no she wasn't!" Alex argued.

"Elijah said it would be better if I said words that are more in-style, and yes she was!" I said back.

"Whatever!" I smiled. "Maybe she can be the one you take to the dance... do you like her?"

"She's pretty..." Alex replied.

"It's love!" I smiled. "You my friend, are taking her to the dance!"
