Here we go into the land of Nigeria.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

We got down from the plane and started walking towards the airport. When I checked my location on Google map it said I was in Lagos /Lay-gos/ state 'The centre of Excellence'. I feel good my foot has finally touched Africa.
We got to the Airport to meet it packed and overcrowded.
"Welcome to Nigeria" My Mom said sarcastic.
We finally got our luggage after spending an hour and half looking for it.
We got a cab which drove us to our destination 'Sheraton hotel' in Lagos.

My Mom said we will be staying there for 2 days before going to her 'Village'

We got our room and took a long rest on the spacious bed.

2 days after.

We have stayed at Sheraton for 2 days and it is time to go to my Mom's village 'Owu'/o-woo/ which is in Abeokuta /a-be-o-koo-tah/ the capital of Ogun /o-goon/ State.
My Mom said she wanted me to have 'experience' so we entered a 'Danfo' /Dan-fo/ bus.

Which was a little bit overcrowded and smelt weird so we sat by the window so we could breathe

The bus started moving and I was scared for my life. The driver was driving carelessly like he was drunk!!!.
I felt like shouting but my Mum held my hand and told me to calm down.
Thankfully there was a traffic jam except this one was not moving at all😣.
A journey that was supposed to take 2 hours took 5 thanks to the traffic and to top it all of the bus broke down adding another 1 hour to our trip. And all my Mom could say was "Welcome to Nigeria ".

At last a Mechanic was able to come and fix the bus, so we were back on the road and in another 30 minutes we arrived at the bus stop.
"It is so hot here" I said fanning myself.
"Ugh...then why did you wear  a long sleeve top." My Mom said pissed of.
"I thought it would be cold" I answered sadly.
"Anyways the house is not far from here it is a walking distance" my Mom said and gave me a small smile.

We walked for about 5 minutes and came to a signboard that read:
Welcome to Owu
We walked deeper into the village and came to a house that was made of bricks, mud and cement but still looked Renovated and nice. It was surrounded by bushes but it gave the house a nice look.

My Mom walked forward and knocked on the door.
"Tani yen ( Who is that)?" A voice shouted from behind the door but it was obvious it was a feminine voice.
"Emi ni ( It is me) Toriolorun" my Mom replied and we heard something break in the background.
The door suddenly burst open and a young woman that looked like my Mom came from inside and pulled my Mom into a big hug.
"Mo rope/ro-kpay/ o ti ku (I thought you were dead" The woman said in teary voice.
Then the woman suddenly looked at me and said.
"Ahhnn se/shay/ omo Toni( is this Toni' s child)?" The woman asked pointing at me with the look of  disbelief in her face.
And since I was new to the language I didn't understand a word they said.
Then my Mom said to the woman
"She doesn't understand Yoruba".
"Oh pele mi o mo ( sorry I didn't know)" Then she cleared her throat and said "Hello my name is Tirenioluwa( I belong to God) and I am your Mom's younger sister. Wait why am I keeping you waiting come inside" she said and opened the door for us to enter.
We entered and found ourselves in a small sitting room that was well furnished.
"Joko" she motioned to us and thanks to my Mom's little teachings in the plane I knew she told us to sit down.
"Are you hungry?" She asked us.
"Yes please we are starving." I said and she laughed at that.
She went into the kitchen and came out in the next 3minutes holding a cultural dish of the Yorubas which is called 'Eba and efo riro'.

Then when I asked for cutlery she said.
"In Nigeria we use our hands to eat our local foods" she said and smiled.
All I could do was stare at her and the food. I have never really ate with my hands before the closest I have done is eating a burger!!!!!!
