Hey guys I'm here with another one of my chapters and this chapter is special cause you would see how much Nigerians care about family and when I mean family you might need a pen and a book to scribble down the family tree or else trust me you might get lost.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The door opened slowly and a woman who also looked like my Mum but much older opened the door.
"Toriolorun it is really you Wawu!!!!" The woman said and pulled My Mom into one big life threatening hug."Good to see you to..." My Mom said with the little air she managed to breathe in. The woman finally let go of my Mom and turned to Me (For my own life threatening hug and I know my Mom is stronger than me so i know I'm going to die. My final words to this beautiful world 'Goodbye I'm gonna miss your wonderful chocolates continue producing them for my loved ones').
Back to reality.
"And this...is Oluwapamilerinayo our small baby" The woman said and literally threw herself on me as I predicted but it was much worse than I expected it felt like I was seconds from dying and the death grip didn't stop. She finally pulled away and I used this once in a lifetime opportunity to breathe in and breathe out.
"Oh how rude of me come in" she said indicating that we should come in.
I'm very sure they told everybody that we were coming from America cause everybody was speaking in English.
When we entered a crowd came to invade our space (hello nothing like privacy in Nigeria?) and now the funniest thing is that my Aunt told us it was only family members but what I see here is a crowd that can fill an entire party with no more seats left. The introductions started and my grandma the oldest woman who was sitting amongst us spoke first.
"Welcome my dears." She said and gave a small smile.
"My name is... Oluwalorisunayomi and I'm your Mom's Mom" she said facing me.
The introductions went on like that but let me make it shorter for you by describing the family tree.Oluwalorisunayomi (78) + Olakanmi(79) = Omoronike (the 58 year old first born), Ashake (the 49 year old second born), Toriolorun (33 year old third born), Tirenioluwa (31 year old fourth born). Their kids are all female.
Omoronike + Adamu = Mobolarin- female (Who married Idowu and had 2 children Adekunmi(boy) and Oluwadamilola- girl), Oluwakemi- female ( Who married Ayomide and gave birth to Adeoya(a year old boy), Inioluwa (Who married Mosope and gave birth to a cute baby girl Tioluwani ), Temidayo (the last born who is single but is betrothed to a man named Tomiwa).
Ashake + Oluwakorede = Oluwagbemi- Male ( Who married Mojisola and they are expecting a baby), Ajibike- Female (the second born who married Gbolahan with no children yet), Onaopemipo (the last born who is betrothed to Damilare Oyedotun).
Toriolorun + Toni (deceased) = Oluwapamilerinayo (Who is married or betrothed to ????).
Tirenioluwa + Akin = Ireoluwa (Who is betrothed to Bayo).
Well now that I know my family but all I have to say is wow!! It took me a long time to realise that I had relatives in Nigeria and all these years I've been living without knowing them I've missed countless marriages of my cousins and loved ones but it is good to know that I finally know them!!!
