"She's his daughter?" Taehyung asked, "and those codes are to the weaponry? For real?"
"Yep," Jungkook confirmed. "There's a lot more to her than I thought. No wonder she's such a stubborn prick."
"And she said she ran away because Letchner touched her where he shouldn't have," Monster thought aloud. Jungkook saw his fists were clenched. If he hadn't hated Letchner yet before, he hated him more than ever now.
"What are you thinking we do, Monster?" Hoseok asked.
Monster wiped his face thoughtfully. "She needs a place to stay. And that fucking son of a bitch needs to rot."
"Think rationally," Jin said with warning. "We need a plan."
"Where are we supposed to send her where she won't eventually make her way back to Bearclove or Letchner?" Yoongi said, playing with the cap of a lighter. "They're both gonna be out for her blood."
"I know, I know." Monster inhaled deeply. After some moments of silence, he seemed to collect his thoughts. "We're keeping her here."
Jungkook shot upright. "What?!"
"You have a better idea?" Monster asked aggressively. "Besides, she's given us the key to finally fucking over Bearclove. We owe her."
"We don't owe her anything!" Jungkook retorted. "I brought her out of the street, Jin saved her, so--"
"What's the problem with her, Jungkook?" Jimin asked calmly, contrasting Jungkook's rage. It was a specialty of his to stay calm when everyone else was angry. "She can shoot, fight, and she wants Letchner and his clan dead. Seems like enough for me."
"I don't care who she wants dead, I trust her as far as I can kick her," Jungkook scoffed and crossed his arms.
"Jungkook, I don't know what happened between you two, and frankly, it doens't matter anymore. I refuse to let Letchner or Bearclove or any other filthy fucking pervert get their hands on her again!" Monster was standing now, clearly getting aggravated. "We're not just gonna throw her out!"
Jungkook knew his place. He held his tongue and only glared. Miyeon was untrustworhty and annoying as fuck, and now she would need maintenance with her injury because she had to get into a fight...he was getting angry again.
The members began leaving the room after the decision was made. "Uh, Jungkook? Can you return Miyeon's things?" Jin asked, putting on a black jacket. "I'm getting dinner."
"Yeah," Jungkook grumbled. He went back into Jin's bedroom with the ID (Monster had the card now, and Jungkook didn't plan on returning the money anytime soon.) He crept in and closed the door; the guest of honor was still asleep in bed. He opened the closet door and tossed her ID inside, then slammed the door just a little too loud.
"Ugh...what the fuck?" Miyeon groaned groggily. Jungkook whipped around to her voice with a deathly glare.
"What happened?"
"What do you think happened?" he responded coldly.
She looked taken aback at his aggression, but he didn't care. "So when were you going to tell me you were a Letchner?"
The blood seemed to drain out of her face at once. She struggled to sit up. Her eyes were wide and filled with the same dark fear Jungkook had seen when Monster first spoke to her. "You went through my stuff?"
Before he could retort, he saw even more fear erupt. Her chest rose and fell quickly. "You took the card, didn't you? You..you lied to me!"
"So what if I did? You--"
"No, no, no, no, you can't just do that! That's...I needed--"
"What's wrong with you?" Jungkook grunted. "You were gonna have to hand it over eventually."
"No, you don't understand!" Miyeon was growing increasingly panicked, and she wasn't even trying to hide it. Her voice was raising with her obvious alarm.
"What's the big deal? You're not dead, so--"
"Jungkook, you idiot, you don't understand anything!" She yelled the last part so viciously, Jungkook felt his jaw clench.
How dare you act like such a victim!" He stomped over to the side of her bed.
"Don't you get it?" She yelled. "Bearclove and Letchner are in a fucking alliance! That card was gold, Jungkook!" Half of her wails were in visible anger, but Jungkook knew there was despair behind each biting word. "That was the only power I had! That was my only chance of a new family! Without that card, nobody needs me, Jungkook."
Jungkook was shocked to hear about the alliance, but his temper got the best of him. "Stop yelling at me, Prick!"
"Where's my card? Who has it?"
Their faces grew closer with each yell until Miyeon was inches away from Jungkook's glare. Jungkook could see her eyes growing wet; after a stab wound and a collapse, and this was what set her off to tears. Unbelievable.
But now he had won. "Monster." He backed off first with a smirk. "Monster has it. What are you gonna do? Fight him?"
She broke her stare and turned away to hide her face. Jungkook scoffed.
"Just kick me out already. Please. I need to get out of the city."
Jungkook froze. Her voice was soft and desperate. It was the opposite of the reaction he was expecting.
"Say I tried to attack you. Say I...fuck, I don't know. But get Monster to throw me out of here. I need to get out of the city...no, the country before Letchner finds out where I am." She gazed up at him in despair. "Then we're all dead."
Jungkook hissed a sigh in exasperation. "You're not leaving, goddammit."
She blinked up at him. "What--"
"Monster doesn't tolerate molesters," he said darkly, "and if you end up back in Letchner's hands, he would go fucking ballistic." He sat down on the edge of the bed, forcing her to move her feet aside. "So he wants to keep you here."
SHe looked shocked, but didn't say anything.
"Where's our thank you?" Jungkook said bitterly.
"Jungkook," she started. "you...you can't."
