Jungkook watched Hoseok leave the bedroom, leaving the light inside on. Hoseok turned and jumped slightly at the sight of him.

"Ya, Jungkook!" he smiled, clutching his chest. "You scared me?"

"What were you guys talking about?" Jungkook scoffed, leaning against the wall. "I'm assuming she talked a whole lot about how evil I am?"

"Actually, you didn't come up," Hoseok replied smugly. "We were talking about our pasts."

Jungkook ground his teeth. He didn't like Miyeon's secrecy, even if it was just with Hoseok. Why didn't she tell everyone?

Ugh. Why was he feeling so...paranoid?

No, no, these are valid concerns. She's still a threat.

"Why?" Hoseok asked suspiciously. "You wanna talk to her before she goes to bed?"

"Ugh. Hardly."

Hoseok gave him a skeptical look, then went down the stairs. Too tired or annoyed to hold up an argument, Jungkook let him go and went to his room.

It took him hours to fall asleep. He didn't know why everything was getting to him so much. From time to time, he thought about why everyone was being so invested in Miyeon. Like why Hoseok went to talk to her about her past, why Monster hadn't spoken to them the rest of the night because he was apparently planning how to use Miyeon's 'potential'. This was ridiculous.

He couldn't help but wonder exactly what her past was, though. He knew about the shit that went down at Letchner's, but he knew there had to be so much more.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"Morning, Jungkook."

Jungkook grunted sleepily in reply, trudging into the kitchen to find both Jin and Yoongi at the table, waiting for toast or eggs. He sat down beside them, rubbing his eyes.

"Someone looks tired," Yoongi teased.

Jungkook just groaned a bit. He had a pretty restless sleep. Jimin had always called him impulsive, letting curiosity overcome him too much. Jungkook realized that maybe he was right; all night was spent wondering what Miyeon was up to, what her past had been like, if this was really all a lie, if it was really all the truth...

Coincidentally, Jimin entered the kitchen with Hoseok close behind. Both were laughing and talking, and Jungkook envied how they were both morning people.

"Ya, Jungkook!" Jimin sat down next to him and patted him on the back. "You feeling better?"

"Better?" Yoongi questioned. "What do you mean? You weren't drinking, were you?"

"No, no," Jungkook said, waving away Yoongi's dark stare. "Don't worry about it, Jimin's just a jackass."

"You know it," Jimin laughed. "Taehyung's showering, where's Monster?"

"Probably on the fucking moon," Jin responded. "He was up all night working, lots of coffee. If he's not loopy or bouncing off the walls, I'll be amazed."

Working on what? Miyeon's information? A plan of attack?

Jin finished making breakfast and the boys ate, Taehyung coming in halfway. It wasn't until everyone had almost finished that Monster entered, wearing the same clothes as the day before.

"Good morning, everyone."

Everyone greeted him, but Jin just gave a stern look as he sat down. "Guess I'll just make more..." he grumbled.

"Alright," Jimin began. "Yoongi we needed to ask about that one dealer, Marcono."

Yoongi rolled his eyes at the name. "What about him?"

"Is he safe to attack? He still hasn't given us his payment." Jimin scowled. "I worked hard for that package, too."

"You'll be fine." Yoongi took a sip of coffee. "Guy's a fucking softie. He can't even defend himself alone. He'll give up as soon as a weapon's drawn."

"Good," Hoseok said. "We'll get on that today. Jimin, Taehyung, Jungkook, you guys in?"

Everyone smiled and shook their heads excitedly. Jungkook was happy to have an escape from his stress. Deals and fights and attacks...they were easy releases of energy and anxiety. It gave him rushes of adrenaline, but also something to focus on. Sometimes he questioned his sanity; nobody should like gang life that much.

"Um, count Jungkook out," Monster said.

Everyone's head shot to Monster. Jungkook felt his heart fall. Why was he excluded from the mission? Anger was welling, but after being so frustrated lately, it quickly faltered into disappointment.

Monster read his questioning expression. "Jungkook broke the rules yesterday. He did a deal alone. And, even though I'm grateful he retrieved Miyeon, he didn't complete yesterday's delivery. So now he's on probation."

Jungkook shot up from his chair. "Probation? Are you fucking--"

"Just for a few days," Monster interrupted. "Besides, there's plenty you can help me with without leaving the house."

Of course, of course it had to happen to him. Not allowed to leave the house when all he wanted to do was get away from it. Not even one fucking  threat.

"Whatever." Jungkook turned to leave the kitchen, embarrassed and frustrated.

"Hey!" Jin called from behind him. "If you're going to do your little storm-out-of-the-room thing, at least bring Miyeon her breakfast!"

Jungkook's jaw tightened. Miyeon. If he hadn't went to get her, he would have completed the delivery, and wouldn't have been stuck...

Without making eye contact, Jungkook spun around and took the platter from Jin. Oh, he would give her her breakfast. He had a few choice words to say in the process.
