"AH!"
Jungkook screamed of pain, gripping his shoulder. It was his first time being shot. It felt like he wanted to rip his arm off from the pain.
Miyeon!
She was sprawled on the ground in from of him, completely still. When the shot had hit his shoulder, Jungkook had felt her flying out of his arms.
Fuck.
Jungkook pushed up the slightest bit on his left hand, but the fiery pain ripped through his arm like electricity. Her had to resort to something else. He just had to get to her.
His right palm, soaked in his blood, gripped the pavement floor with every ounce of strength as he pulled himself forward.
"Miyeon!" His voice shrieked like it was ripping his throat into pieces. "Miyeon!"
He pushed faster across the floor, desperately reaching for her. But when he was close enough, his eyes watched in horror as a boot landed on her back.
Hie eyes traveled up the black boot, up the stained pants, the ripped jacket, up the arm with the pistol aimed towards her head. Up into the face of Letchner.
"It was wonderful of you to join us, Jungkook," he said, his voice sickeningly smooth. "Back up if you want to see your friends live."
Jungkook's eyes were pained from bulging out of his head. He whipped his head around, choking on his breath when he saw the scene.
Jin held at gunpoint, hands up defenseless. Hoseok flat on his stomach, a Bearclove stepping hard on his ear into the floor. Yoongi was clutching his stomach, sitting on the floor while a Bearclove pressed a gun into the top of his head. To Jungkook's biggest fear, Monster and Taehyung were nowhere in sight.
"See, Jungkook? I told you you shouldn't have tried it."
Jungkook turned back to Letchner, but in a split second, he felt the boot knock into his face. He rolled to the side, the world suddenly blurry and his cheek throbbing. Jungkook turned to find him again, even in the spinning room, but felt the impact of a second kick. Red blood spurted down his chin. He flew back on the floor.
"Isn't this what you wanted?" Letchner laughed. "All you Bangtan boys do is destroy yourselves. You come after my daughter and here you are, Jungkook, shot on the ground. You come after my workers and....well, look. There's only six of you now."
Jungkook could barely see. His swelling nose and cheek made his whole face numb. Dripping from his eyes to his chin was glistening blood. But Jungkook could make out that Letchner was leaning over him, teasing him from above his beaten face.
"Where is Park Jimin, Jungkook? Why don't you tell me?"
Jungkook wanted to swing. To kick. To spit. To get up and shoot him. But nothing was working. Not his shot shoulder, not his bloody mess of a face. He was useless. And Miyeon was still on the ground, defenseless against whatever happens next.
Whatever happens after Letchner kills Jungkook.
"You're quiet, huh." Letchner began pacing around Jungkook. "Everyone's always such a talker until they realize they're hopeless."
He laughed, and the sound of it made Jungkook's stomach churn. "Miyeon knows it well. Always acting so tough, but....well, she seems pretty silent now."
I'll kill you. I'll fucking rip you to--
"Tell me, Jungkook...."
Jungkook watched the blurry image of Letchner's black boot loom over him. A groan cried out when it landed flat on his stomach.
