Miyeon finally turned the corner a few minutes after Taehyung, running as fast as she could with the pain in her side. It didn't feel too bad, it was manageable, but she hadn't realized at the start of the job that burning an entire building would mean an extremely rushed getaway. Yoongi had given Taehyung and her two separate routes to get to the same block that was a few streets away from the house. She had sprinted, taking every back alley the arsonist had told her to take. Just when she was getting a bit stressed over the escape, Taehyung was on his way past the alley she was currently in. She was basically in the clear.
However, it didn't make the pain in her side any easier.
She ran a bit more to the end of the block, then saw Taehyung was waiting for her at the door of the house.
"Hey," she panted, reaching the doorway. Taehyung was catching his breath, too.
"Good job for Phase One!" Taheyung smiled a boxy smile. "And sorry if I didn't help you against that one guy back there, I had one of them on me, too."
Miyeon knew the moment he was referring to. In the corners of the facility where they thought they couldn't be seen, someone snuck up behind her and attacked from behind. He only delivered one successful blow to her side, hence the pain in her wound, before she was fighting back. Taehyung had called out to her at the time, but other Bearclove members were attacking them, too. She was glad he didn't help; it was the first time she had fought anybody since the alleyway and stabbing, and she felt stronger again after beating him.
"Don't worry about it, Tae."
The two of them entered the house, closing the door behind them. Taehyung unlocked his phone and chuckled.
"Yoongi's coming back any minute now. He stopped to pet a stray cat back on 50th."
"Is anyone else back yet?" Miyeon asked.
Taehyung opened his mouth to speak, but their question was answered abruptly when footsteps came from the bottom floor. Miyeon peeked around the corner to look at the stairwell; Jungkook and Hoseok were walking out to them. Hoseok beamed.
"How did everything go?"
Taehyung shrugged contently. "Yoongi's hidden the crates of stolen Bearclove weapons a few streets down and we'll pick them up later when we find a truck to jack. And that place should be getting firefighters' attention by now."
Miyeon nodded in agreement. Yoongi had thrown four molotovs through the entryways of the facility, and suddenly the crimson colors were raging from all sides. It was breathtaking.
"How'd you do, Prick?"
Miyeon rolled her eyes at Jungkook, who had asked the question with a smirk. "Pretty good, thank you very much."
"Yeah, Miyeon did great!" Taehyung applauded softly. "First job with Bangtan, how'd it feel?"
She smiled. "Considering it was against Letchner, pretty fucking good."
Miyeon stumbled a bit as she felt Hoseok's hand wack her on the back in approval. She knew he meant it to be like a pat, but it unfortunately hit the side of her wound. Pain began to sting.
Swallow it. Now's not the time to have another injury. It'll go away soon.
"Since Jin and Monster are still on their way, I'll make something to eat," Hoseok said. "Remember to keep your arms on, just in case."
Hoseok and Taehyung left for the kitchen together, with Jungkook closely behind, but Miyeon tugged on his sleeve.
He stopped and turned to face her. "What's wrong?"
