"Now lady and gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for."
Jin was proudly standing at the head of the table as the other members sat around it, waiting for their food and recent new phase development. The only person not there was Monster.
"I think I hear him coming," Jin teased, raising his hand dramatically to his ear.
"Jin, do we have to wait for Monster? I'm starving."
"For your information Jungkook, you impatient child, Monster is here!"
Jin thrust his hands out, shaking his fingers like a performer in the direction of the door to the kitchen. To Miyeon's surprise, Monster actually did enter on cue (though unceremoniously), but he looked very different. He wasn't wearing a button up and tie like normal, but just a t-shirt and joggers. He still looked clean and crisp, but it took Miyeon off guard. Instead of looking like a president, he looked comfortable.
He rolled his eyes at Jin, who was still in his performing stance. "Thank you, Jin, though I don't think the formalities were necessary."
Jungkook crossed his arms, nudging Miyeon slightly in the process. "Why don't you try to catch a lightning bolt outside for your next trick, Jin?"
Miyeon glanced out the window at the wild thunderstorm Jungkook was referring to. The table snickered in response. Jin leaned over the tabletop and delivered a smack to Jungkook's forehead.
"It wasn't a trick, Monster's here not only to eat my delicious home cooked meals, but to say the next phase in the Letchner plan."
Miyeon felt herself perk up in interest. It seemed the rest of the table did, too.
Although the sparring session with Jungkook was more for fun than for legitimate practice, it did make Miyeon more comfortable with moving and fighting again. It made her even more excited to go back into the field, even if the reoccurring memory of the Bearclove member jumping her made her side twinge in pain.
"Actually," Monster sighed, taking a seat next to Taehyung at the table, "let's make this night just about your, uh, delicious home cooked meals."
Yoongi's brows furrowed. "What do you mean? You told me a few hours ago it was ready."
Monster held a weak smile. "I've received some updates I have to account for. No worries, everyone, there's no rush. We did well enough the first phase that we have time before we have to act again."
Monster handed his plate to Jin, commencing dinner. He didn't seem stressed, so Miyeon took it as a reassurance that things were okay. Monster was always right, after all.
Jin quickly distributed dinner and soon they were eating, much to Jungkook's joy. It was funny watching everyone eat; it always comforted her. Unless the subject of discussion was focused solely on a plan, everyone conversed like a normal family or group of friends.
"Can we play poker after dinner?' Hoseok asked excitedly. "We haven't played altogether in a long time."
"Sure," Jungkook responded, "as long as you don't let Miyeon anywhere near the cards."
"It's not my fault you suck at teaching me how to play!"
"And it's not my fault you suck at poker!"
"Have fun you guys," Monster chuckled, standing up from the table with an empty plate. "I'm going to have to pass tonight. The plan will be ready tomorrow, I promise."
"You work too much," Taehyung pouted. "Besides, you said there was no rush."
"Yeah, join in for a round!"
