[Chapter Thirty-Three: Wristbands]
Being on break was fantastic, Aspen had nothing to stress about while she was at her favorite place in the world; Hogwarts. She got up whenever she wanted, and went to bed however late as she pleased. It was like summer break, but at Hogwarts while it was cold enough to freeze molten lava. Waking up, she instantly stretched—if Sirius were there, he'd say that she sounded exactly like a glow stick from how much she cracked. She sat up and ran her hand through her hair, which was something she shouldn't have done . . . it was thick as a sailors knot.
Aspen looked around to find her dorm empty, Wendy's bed a mess with two sleeping bags on the floor. Lily and Marlene slept in the dorm the night before while Aspen and Wendy slept in their own beds. It seemed everyone was gone, it was probably around breakfast. Aspen sighed . . . she was never one to wake up so late. She placed on some black leggings and the white and blue tie-dye shirt she made with James around the Halloween time. It was short-sleeved, she despised wearing it but in order to allow James not to have a hissy-fit—she'd wear it.
Aspen left her dorm, she could hear chattering throughout the hallways. Aspen ignored them and nervously bit her lip, she was at the stairs when she was scared nearly to death. "Aspen!" Someone yelled, Aspen jumped but made sure with all her might she didn't go forward . . down the stairs, rather, she jumped backward. Aspen clutched onto her chest when she realized it was only Wendy.
"Merlin's beard!" Aspen gasped, "Wendy, you almost gave me a heart attack! What the bloody hell do you want?!"
"Where have you been?" Wendy asked, ignoring Aspens questions. "We haven't been able to find you anywhere! The ball is going to start in two hours!"
Bloody hell . . . so she slept later than she thought.
"I've been in the dorm sleeping, why haven't any of you woken me up?" Aspen shrieked with wide eyes, running her hand through her hair stressfully.
"I sent Marlene to wake you up but she said you weren't there!" Wendy stated, then she facepalmed. "Bloody hell, she probably never even went to the dorm. All day she's been bragging about her little girlfriend, she probably went to see the Hufflepuff. When I get my bloody hands on McKinnon I'm going to rip her—"
"Yeah, yeah. Do that later," Aspen rushed, noticing all the make up that Wendy was flawlessly wearing. "I need to start getting ready! I need my dress, I need to shave my legs, I need to get my hair done, oh bloody hell! I should just cancel and stay in reading a Stephen King novel. I can always relate to his horror stories."
"One, I'm not even going to ask," Wendy began, holding her index finger up. "Two, you're going. Lily is practically done getting ready, all she needs to do is put her dress on which is easy as done. I'll send her out to help you, and I'm going to go kill Marlene. After she does my hair, of course."
