[Wristbands: Chapter Fifty-Seven]
The entire day after spending a week in the hospital was surprisingly calming. Cassie seemed to be more content having a crib rather than sleeping in a small glass box that rolled across the floor. Wendy had to go home right away as she had to pack for the flat. James and Lily went on a date in Hogsmeade, leaving both Sirius and Aspen alone.
The day was spent with Sirius and Aspen cuddling on the couch while Cassie slept in the crib in front of them. It was great being able to sleep, it was also great sleeping with her boyfriend while not looking like a mammoth. Instead, she looked like a slightly deflated mammoth, which she was okay with. By the time night came, the thought of staying awake was worse than the thought that somewhere in the world there was a man leading a death-cult. Aspen kissed Sirius, and then picked up a sleepy Cassie before she walked towards the guest room she and Sirius shared.
After laying her baby down in another crib, seeing as the Potters, for some reason, had two—Aspen then crashed tiredly onto the bed. Her legs were like jelly, and her mind felt like a fifty pound weight. Despite it all, Aspen had a chance to sleep so she got comfortable under the covers and closed her eyes. That peace lasted a minute before the cries of Cassie began to echo around the room. Aspen sucked in a breath and sat up, grabbing her wand and enchanting 'lumos' as she went over to Cassie's crib. The little girls green eyes were looking up towards the ceiling, but when Aspen showed up they shifted to her mummy's face.
"Now why are you awake, huh?" Aspen asked in a babying tone, picking her tear-soaked child up. "You were just sleeping so soundly, and I don't ever remember hearing anything that could've woken you up."
The infant only made a frown motion with her mouth as she let out a large wail before crashing her head into Aspens chest. "Just like your father," Aspen joked, "haha, I'm so funny. Your mummy is a comedian." She sighed, annoyed with herself before sitting back onto the bed.
During those moments, Cassie seemed to fall asleep again, which was both good and bad. Good because she was now sleeping and not screaming, but bad because it was in Aspens arms and now Aspen would have to stay awake to make sure she doesn't crush her baby. Aspen sighed, deciding sleep could wait for another time. She grabbed a white fuzzy blanket and wrapped it around herself and Cassie before she made her way back downstairs, sitting on the edge of the couch Sirius slept on.
Aspen glanced longingly at her boyfriend, his lips were slightly parted as his head was leaning against the arm of the chair. There was a large blanket covering him, courtesy of Aspen, and he looked to be having the time of his life while sleeping. Aspen laid her head back, grasping Cassie a little tighter. Aspen hadn't even realized that her vision was growing blurry and dark until it was too late, she was asleep.
