[Chapter Eighteen: Wristbands]
Waves of emotions swept through Aspen before she finally allowed herself to stop at one. Sadness. Tears poured down her cheeks, Sirius held her at his side. Sirius just explained to her everything Evelyn did. She couldn't understand how Sirius was not freaking out too. But then again, Aspen's situation was much worse as Evelyn targeted her with the intention of ruining her reputation—which was working. She was glad Sirius stopped her before she could leave to go get dinner, it would've been horrible. Sirius told them what really happened, why wouldn't they believe him? He was the supposed victim of the whole made-up situation, wasn't he supposed to be the one who everyone believed and listened to? Not even his friends believed him, though hearing that Wendy defended Aspen made her feel better. Yes, there were of course a few other people who believed Aspen to be innocent--but there weren't a lot.
Aspen wondered what the Professors were going to do, what they were going to do about the rumors of their prized-student Aspen Lee 'raping' a young male seventh-year. Were they going to believe Aspen, or were they going to believe Evelyn? "Shhhhh," Cooed Sirius, she continued to sob in his arms. He felt absolutely devastated seeing her like this--it made him feel things he hadn't felt before.
"I-I can't believe—"
"Shhhhhhh, it's okay," Sirius repeated, Aspen continued to sob. It lasted what felt like hours until Aspen knew she had to regain herself. She took a deep breath and sat up, wiping her tear-soaked face with her sweater sleeve. She stood up onto her feet and moved her hair behind her ears. Sirius copied her actions by standing onto his feet too. Thoughts went throughout her mind in a rush, what should she do? Does she go straight to the Professors and report Evelyn for bullying? Would they even believe her? Should she just lay low and let this blow over? Should she—
"Aspen?" Sirius asked. Aspen stopped her pacing and whipped her head over into Sirius' direction. If Sirius tried moving his head that fast he was pretty sure his neck would snap. "You don't have to worry," Sirius stated. He could hear Aspen scoff of disbelief towards his words but he continued, "The teachers love you, you are basically the best student in this school. They'll never believe this nonsense Evelyn is spreading."
"They could!" Aspen said, "I am not the best student in this school, that title surely goes to Lily or Remus. Yes, I do submit quality work but plenty of teachers could believe Evelyn. If the whole school believes I freaking raped you, the teachers would surely believe I did that too!" She rambled. But then her eyes widened making Sirius concerned. "I didn't rape you, right? I mean I've never done any of—"
"No Aspen," Laughed Sirius, "You didn't rape me. We both did what we did willingly." Though, once he finished his sentence, he began second guessing. "Unless . . ."
