[Chapter Twenty-Two: Wristbands]
"W-what are you doing here?" Evelyn asked her former friend. They had just finished tampering with the love potion, and now stood in front of Wendy and Gryffindor prefect Remus Lupin.
"Running from Peeves," Wendy answered, observing the three. Why were they all people together? Evelyn the Gryffindor, Snape the Slytherin, and a Ravenclaw who Wendy assumed to be named Jared. "What're you guys doing here?"
"Erm—" Started Evelyn, she was unable to think of anything. Evelyn and Wendy were the only ones talking at the time, Snape stood there uncomfortable as he was hiding a glowing red potion behind the books he was holding, Jared, on the other hand, was checking Remus out.
"We were just studying," Jared stated, pointing to the books that were being held by Snape. "You two have a problem with that?"
"No, may I ask a question, though?" Remus quickly asked. Without waiting for a response, he pointed to Snape and asked, "What are you hiding behind those books?"
"None of your business, Lupin." Sneered Severus. Seconds later, Wendy walked up to the smelly boy and grabbed the books— revealing a glowing red potion.
"Hey, what the hell!" Yelled Evelyn. Seconds later, she pushed Wendy causing Wendy to fall back onto her back.
"Wendy!" Remus shouted, running over to his new friend and helping her up. She quickly wiped off any dirt that got on her from the dirty ground and shot Evelyn a glare.
"I-I'm sorry." Apologized Evelyn, surprised at her own actions. "I don't know what came over me."
"Jealousy." Wendy calmly stated, giving Evelyn a look. "Aspen makes you jealous because Sirius Black likes her and not you! So instead of dealing with it like a normal human being, you're taking it out on everyone else."
"You have no idea what you're on about!" Evelyn yelled, becoming genuinely angry. Snape and Remus were staring each other down, careful to not be in either girl's way. Jared was busy watching the fight; if only he had popcorn.
Remus felt as if the potion Severus was holding was familiar. The sparkling red reminded him of a potion he made the year earlier, for Prongs and Padfoot so they could pull a prank against a Hufflepuff by the name of Marina Brady.
"I do!" Wendy hissed back. "I know everything. For your sake, I'm not going to state who, but you like someone and you're afraid to admit it—so now you're too busy acting like your cravings don't exist!"
"Shut up, Wendy! You don't know anything!" Evelyn yelled, growing angrier by the second. "Just leave us alone and go play with your new boy-toy!"
"Oooooooh! This is getting juicy!" Interrupted Jared with an amused grin covering his face. "I always thought Lupin was more into guys!"
