[Chapter Twenty-Nine: Wristbands]
Once Wendy got away from the two soon-to-be lovebirds, she laughed. Aspen's face was hilarious—it looked as if someone just spilled something onto her lap but she was too nervous to say anything about it. It's happened before, several times. Wendy was almost to the door of the classroom but was grabbed by someone, pulling her over. In reflex, she went to swing but the person ducked under her arm. Once Wendy saw who grabbed her, she gasped, putting her swinging ham over her mouth. "Remus, I almost hit you!"
"But you didn't," He said with a smile on his face, making him look younger than he already was. Those blasted scars made him look to be in his mid-to-late twenties. "I knew you were going to swing—so I ducked, either way, a hit from you is like a slap from an angel."
"That was so bad that I loved it." Wendy giggled, hugging her boyfriend. Remus embraced her back, he was in a good mood that day. Normally the days before a full moon he felt terrible, but for some reason that day he felt energetic—excited, even.
"I knew you would." He said he then hooked his arm around Wendy's book-free hand as they waited for the professor to open the classroom. Eventually, the Dinivation professor arrived and allowed everyone in with a ramble of apologies.
Once they got to their seats, Remus excitedly pulled the chair out for Wendy— she smiled at the generosity but couldn't help but wonder; Why was he so excited? She continued to place her books on the desk in a neat fashion, Wendy shook her head as she organized them. "I was already a big cleaner before dating you," Wendy exasperated, shaking her head. "but now I'm organizing my textbooks? Merlin, I'm starting to rethink my whole dating you thing."
"Really? Cause me too." Remus said as he sat down, Wendy looked at him with both surprise and offense. "Ever since I started dating you, I've been eating vegetables and fruits—I miss my chocolate."
They haven't even been dating for two days yet . . .
"Remus, you may look like a twig, but you are highly out of shape," Wendy told him, his face scrunched. "You lost your breath walking down the dorm stairs. Down, I tell you! There's not a lot of work you need to provide to go down."
"Is there a point to all this insulting?"
"I'm not insulting you," Wendy said, smiling in amusement. "I'm simply stating the truth. Being around me has made you healthy . . . . you're a growing boy, still. Even if you're already six-foot-four."
"Then me making you an organized person is a good thing, too," Remus retorted, pointing to her books. "We've already both given each other advantageous benefits throughout our course of dating so far."
"I guess . . At least I don't have to worry about my dorm being dirty when we have visitors. Even when I won't even be there." Wendy stated, shrugging as she picked at her chipped baby blue nails.
