[Wristbands: Chapter Forty-Four]

"Penny, when I say 'go' I want you to jump, okay?" Asked a black-haired woman, looking down at her six-year-old daughter.

"Okay mummy." The girl nodded, excitedly looking around for her father. A hand was placed on her shoulder causing her to jump, but she turned only to see her father smiling down at her.

"Great! Now grab mummy and daddy's hands, hold on tight." Said her mother. Aspen grinned and held her hands out, tightly grasping on her parents' much larger hands. They started to walk and gained some speed, Aspen's legs could barely keep up and her mother yelled; "Jump!"

Seconds later, Aspen was in the air, her parents holding her up with the jump. Aspen laughed as they kept doing it while they walked down the street. Cars passed by them but the family of three did not notice as they were too busy launching little Aspen into the air so she could fly like a bird. They were walking down the street to a little yellow house-turned ice cream shop. They went there every Saturday evening during the summertime, it was a Lee tradition. The ice cream there was spectacular in Aspen's eyes, if she hadn't had it she wouldn't have believed it was real. It was as if it was tainted by magic, which it might have been.

"Okay, okay calm down, children," Aspens mother said to her daughter and husband who laughed, playing together. Aspen's father frowned at being called a child but ignored the statement as he lifted little Aspen into his arms while they climbed the stairs of the shop. As they entered the ice cream parlor, the sound of a bell chimed throughout the shop. There were only a few customers there, sitting at small tables, they all looked towards the new arrivals. Once seeing who entered, they all went back to their business, all except for the man who ran the shop; Mike.

Mike was a highly enthusiastic man, he was about thirty, five years younger than Aspen's father. He had sandy-brown hair and always had a bright smile on his pale-freckled face. Aspen suspected that the man had some type of ADHD as he was always on the move, never able to stay on one topic for longer than two minutes. But that only made her love the man even more.

"Oh looks who we have here, it's the Lee's!" Said Mike for everyone in the parlor to hear. "I wasn't expecting you three today!" He said all-too sarcastically.

"Yeah, yeah," Said Aspen's father, grinning at the man as they both shook hands, happily greeting each other. "You should be happy we come every weekend, you get more money."

"That's is true, my kind sir," Mike said with a smile. He turned towards Aspen's mother, smiling at her charmingly, "Kathryn Lee, oh how nice it is to see you again."
