A real family was something I once thought did exist. A family that didn't lie or hide. A family that had no secrets. I thought I had that with the gang until Duval joined. And when I won and Duval was banished I thought Flint and I were family. Even when he acted strange.
He still obeyed orders, but that was only when I was finally able to find him to give him said orders. He was hiding more and more and finally I gave up on searching for him. He wasn't gone. He was the only one who wouldn't desert me. Even Demeter deserted me. He'd started over a month, nearly two months, ago and he still wasn't back. He wasn't answering my calls or texts, and he always answered me. Something had to be wrong for him to not answer me.
"I trusted him and he left us. He just left us! How could he abandon me..." I lied in my bed, curled up with my phone near me and I stayed there for the rest of the day in silence. I had to figure out what to do if Demeter ever did come back. If he wasn't coming back, was the gang mine? Real family? Pfft. Real family doesn't exist.
