"I'm really sorry, Yoongi. I was going to walk home and not let everyone mess with it. I really didn't care if I had to go home alone." Jungkook was looking at Yoongi as he was driving, chewing silently on a piece of mint gum. He was afraid he was irritating Yoongi, because he had yet to say anything while driving. All the older did was keep his eyes locked on the road.
Silence.
They arrived to Jungkook's house.
The driveway was empty as usual, both of Jungkook's parents were at work. He barely saw them anymore. Except on the weekends. They were always so busy, like they had a second life without Jungkook in the picture.
Jungkook collected his things and stepped outside the car, and before Yoongi could even put the car back into drive, the younger spoke again. He had a question.
"Yoongi...?"
"Hm."
"Are you doing anything this evening?" Jungkook leaned on the window frame of Yoongi's car, his shirt dipping down along with it.
'Pull your damn shirt up, Jungkook.'
: A thought of Yoongi's."Nope." Yoongi replied, drier than ever.
"Wanna hang out?"
"Hang out...?" Yoongi questioned. As if he needed to.
"Um, yeah.. like, you know... talk and do stuff together?" Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck a bit awkwardly.
"Yes or no?" Jungkook's lips formed into a small grin as he waited for an answer.
Yoongi already knew the answer in his head. Why was he even pretending to ponder it? It had been so long since he had been with Jungkook alone. Plus, he felt sad for the other boy but he never showed it. He did in fact know about Jungkook's parents. How they would always leave him behind and limit him to doing things. Was he still always alone after school and into the nights and mornings? Must have been pretty rough. But Yoongi was alone in his apartment all the time.
Jungkook began humming 'Jeopardy'. Yoongi was basically zoned out.
"God damnit. Fine. I will." Yoongi finally answered the question, getting out of his car and locking the doors. Jungkook just giggled as a result. "You're slower than Christmas when making a decision. I'm even surprised you said yes." Jungkook was smiling as he walked up to his front door with Yoongi following behind. "I can always change my answer." The older sighed while shaking his head at Jungkook's silly words.
"I know you wouldn't though."
The front door was opened, allowing the crisp air conditioning to hit Yoongi's hot face. Thank god, if there was one. If he would've been in his own car any longer he would've been cooked alive by then. Yeah, still needed money to fix his air conditioner. Nothing really has changed much in Jungkook's house just by quickly glancing at the interior. Yoongi liked that. Of course, it's been a while since he had visited. But, it was somehow just kind of cute how nothing changed.
"Let's go to my room."
"Um.. ok."
Jungkook headed up the stairs, Yoongi slowly following behind. The stairs... Yoongi specifically remembered something that happened on them.
FLASHBACK:
"Doesn't she look beautiful? I'm surprised you haven't gotten a date for this, Yoongi-hyung!" Jimin's black hair fixed perfectly with his black tux, wrapping his arm around his dates' waist and pulling her closely.
