Jungkook smiled a bit at Seokjin's silly pun, propping his head up using his wrist. He glanced over at the school clock in the cafeteria, seeing it was 7:00 AM. Class didn't start for another forty five minutes, so Jungkook decided to sit at one of the cafeteria tables with his friends while everyone else ate breakfast. He didn't eat anything though, he didn't feel too hungry today.
Jungkook felt weird today. Not 'weird' in a sickly way. His stomach didn't hurt, he didn't have a sore throat, or any other signs that he was gaining a sickness— but he just felt.. weird. There wasn't any way to explain it, other than he didn't feel like himself. He didn't know what was causing it. Maybe he was just tired from the weekend. All students had to get up early, they all dreaded Monday. Maybe it was the same for Jungkook this time.
"Kookie.. are you sure you don't want to eat anything?" Jimin pouted, his cheeks a little puffy from the rice stuffed in them.
"No hyung.. I'm fine, really." Jungkook insisted.
"Okay~" Jimin swallowed the rice in his mouth, starting to eat more of his food provided on the tray.
"Is today the day we get free period half the day?" Namjoon hiccuped from drinking too much of his juice.
"Yeah, it's because the younger grades are taking that test and they don't want any distractions." Hoseok nodded, answering Namjoon's question.
Jungkook randomly spoke up. "Where's Yoongi-hyung?"
"Hm? I didn't think we were missing anyone." Taehyung shrugged, talking unbothered by the concern coming from Jungkook.
"Me? I'm right here." A voice came from behind Jungkook, making the younger turn his head suddenly. He was a bit taken back, he almost didn't recognize the boy behind him.
Yoongi sat down in an empty seat beside Jungkook, setting his book bag on the floor. Yoongi was wearing this long camouflage jacket, a gold chain-like necklace with a solid black t-shirt underneath. He had ripped black skinny jeans too. It was so different.
Jungkook just took a moment to look at Yoongi, seeing everything that changed.
"Yoongi.. you dyed your hair..." Seokjin reached over and gently touched the boys' hair. Everyone around the table had their focus on Yoongi now.
"I wanted a change, that's all." Yoongi looked around at everybody.
"Hyung~! The color really suits you, I like it." Jimin patted Yoongi's shoulder, taking a huge bite of his food and smiling to the older.
"I agree, it does. Here we are, with boring hair colors." Namjoon chuckled a bit, running a hand through his brushed and styled hair.
"Mine isn't boring." Hoseok snooted.
"It's orange, but we're used to it by now. I haven't seen anyone with blonde." Namjoon shrugged.
"Well, you haven't seen anyone with orange at the time." Hoseok mimicked Namjoon's shrug.
"What happened to your hand..?" Jungkook quietly pointed out Yoongi's wrapped hand, meeting eyes with the older boy.
"Oh. Just a little accident, it's nothing that bad." Yoongi took the wrapped hand and gently shoved it into his jacket pocket. Thankfully no one else asked about it, but Jungkook... he was good at details.
"What made you choose blonde?" Taehyung asked Yoongi, not looking in the direction of the older boy. He was still a bit mad at Yoongi, but at least he was more relaxed then on Saturday.
Jungkook started zoning out. He could hear Yoongi talk and answer Taehyung's question, but he was more focused on something else.
Jungkook saw a man.. standing behind the door that lead into the cafeteria. There was a window in the door too, where students could see inside. The man was wearing all black and he looked like he was in his mid 40's. He had this weird smile on his face. He just stared at Jungkook. Did this man know him..? Jungkook just had this overwhelming feeling to shut both cafeteria doors. Whoever this man was, he didn't feel like he belonged inside the school. All Jungkook knew was the doors had to be shut. Now. Now! Or else the man would do something!
Jungkook bolted out of his seat, not noticing everyone from his table watching him in confusion. He quickly went to both cafeteria doors and shut them completely, glaring at the man behind them and staring at the kids. He didn't trust this man. So he slowly backed away from the doors, not breaking eye contact with him.
"Excuse me, mister, but you can't shut the doors like that." A teacher in the cafeteria said, making Jungkook break eye contact with the man for a split second. "But there was - -" Jungkook started and he looked back to the doors. The man was gone. "I- there was.. - -" Jungkook's face went blank.
"There was??" The teacher looked at Jungkook, opening the doors again. "The doors aren't supposed to be shut. They sometimes get stuck and lock.. just keep that in mind okay?"
"O-Oh, yeah. I'm sorry." He bowed a bit and quickly took a glance out the doors. No man was in sight. Where'd he go? Did he bolt when he had the chance? Was he freely roaming the school?
Jungkook went back to his seat.
"What was that about?" Taehyung asked, furrowing his eyebrows when the youngest boy came back.
"I.. I saw a man that's all. I got weird vibes and needed to shut the doors..." Jungkook rubbed his temples.
"What?!" Hoseok seemed to get scared so easily. "Is he a serial killer or something?!"
"No- no. I just, saw someone at the doors and he didn't seem to fit into this school. I was worried he'd try to do something. The teacher insisted the doors be closed." Jungkook glanced to Hoseok.
"What the fuck? Did he have a badge? Or a visitor sticker on his clothing?" Namjoon asked.
"No...." Jungkook trailed off.
"Shit, something like that.. you could report to the principle.. holy fuck. I wouldn't let that slide, Jungkook. You should try to tell someone as soon as possible." Jimin stopped eating, now engaging in what the younger saw.
"Guys.. it's okay. I'll probably just say something after free period. You know the principle hates being bothered. Plus, it would be safer to say something after free period since we'll all be outside.. and I don't want us in the hallways with the man roaming around." Jungkook explains, everyone nodding and sighing.
"You really are good with details..." Yoongi spoke to Jungkook, even the older boy had concern in his eyes.
Jungkook nodded, looking back to Yoongi.
"Well.. now since you mention the man I don't really feel safe being inside now." Jimin picks his tray up and walks over to the trash can, throwing the rest of his food away. "We can all leave when we're done and go outside right?" Jimin asked, starting to grab his things.
"I wouldn't give a damn at this point, I'm getting my ass out of here." Hoseok jumped out of his seat, throwing his food away too.
"Alright, let's go outside everyone.." Seokjin tried to hide his nerves, but they were showing through anyways.
Hoseok, Jimin, Namjoon, Taehyung, and Seokjin all rushed out the cafeteria— leaving Yoongi and Jungkook behind. "So you really saw someone.. huh?" Yoongi asked. Jungkook was surprised Yoongi was actually talking to him.. even just a simple question shocked him.
"Of course I did. I couldn't and wouldn't make that up." Jungkook bit his lip, Yoongi watching. "We should get outside.." Jungkook added, beginning to go towards the other exit doors that'd lead outside. Yoongi nodded and followed behind, until he moved up a bit and walked side by side with Jungkook.
