WHAT HAPPENED TO SAB AERUM IN MARCH AND APRIL?
Sab Aerum, a member of Bangtan Sonyeondan, was facing mental health issues in the early Spring. She was seen as less happy, but still as busy as ever. Because she is the only female member in a worldwide popular group, she has a lot of pressure and attention on her. TV shows and journalists always want to interview her or film her for entertainment. Her schedule is always packed, but it was especially busy during March and April.
During that time, she didn't laugh as much or smile as much. She would still film entertainment shows, but would play along and often space out. There was a behind the scenes clip of Aerum and one of the makeup artists, who has bonded with Aerum. The clip is linked below.

"Aerum, are you okay? Let me touch up your makeup."
"Okay," Aerum said, sitting down in the chair.
The makeup artist began reapplying her blush and lipstick.
"How are you feeling today? Any better than yesterday?"
Aerum hummed. "I feel even worse."

Bighit originally announced that Aerum's mixtape would be released on April 7, but due to reasons and complications, the release date was pulled back. During that time, they gave out information about Aerum and her mixtape. It is titled 'Independence,' and Aerum caught a sickness, which left her in bed for a week. Aside from her sickness, her mother was recently diagnosed with cancer, leaving Aerum in a spiral of depression.
Her mixtape will be released on May 13, which is Mother's Day in America. Aerum's mother is still alive at the moment, but she is honoring her half-American and half-Thai mother who is living in the United States with her Korean father.
