"I don't know how to skate." I tell Chris when he asked why I was not leaving the railing. Paige and Gabriel were helping Austin since he didn't know how to skate either.
"I can help." He says extending a hand. I hesitantly take his hand. He extends his other hand and I place my other hand in his, leaving the railing. He starts skating slowly taking me with him. "One leg forward, then other. The leg which is not in use should be at your knee's level." He instructs like a teacher. I follow his instructions.
I take a step forward and lift my other leg up but end up slipping. Thankfully, Chris puts his arm around my waist to keep me in place. I too clutch his shirt so that I don't fall. I blush a little at his touch. He removes his hand from my waist and holds my hand again.
"Try again." He says calmly. I nod and we start again. This time I paid more attention and tried my level best. The results were pleasing. After a while, I and Chris start gliding on the smooth ice together. Then he slowly pulled his hands away from mine. At first I lacked balance, but soon regained it. I am skating.
"I am skating.." I turn to see Chris ".. Chris I am skating.." I shout.
Chris's expression changes. "Evanna watch out." He shouts as he starts skating towards me.
When I turn back, I collide with the railing and fall down. A stinging pain seep through my butt and head, which hit the railing. Chris knelt down beside me. He starts rubbing my forehead.
"You okay?" He asks worriedly and I start laughing. "Why are you laughing?"
"Reminded me of old days, when I was learning how to cycle." I answer, he smiles. Then he helps me on my feet. Just then Gabriel and Paige bring a tired looking Austin with him to us. Austin was skating well but not good enough that he could be left alone.
"Enough skating for a day. This is really hard." Austin complain. Then Paige's stomach grumbles and she chuckles.
"I think we should leave. I'm really hungry." Paige says, giggling. We all agree.
Evening, at the bar
We didn't have to show our ID proves since the guard was friends with Gabriel. Seems like Gabe has friends everywhere.
"I'm not sure I'll be able to enjoy here." Chris shouts in my ear since the music here is really loud. Just like I like it. Taylor Swift was blaring through the speakers.
They say I did something bad
But why's it feel so good
They say I did something bad
Then why's it feel so..good..goodWe all go to the bar table and order our drinks. Chris and Paige order a no alcohol beer. They are no fun. Gabriel and Austin order vodka shots while I opt bourbon. Chris passes me a questioning look but I ignore it.
I gulp down my shot and feel the familiar burning sensation.
"Let's change." Paige shouts in my ear. I totally forgot that she brought extra dresses with her. I nod and go with, but not before telling Chris.
Paige and I quickly changed into our spare clothes. Mine was a black strapless dress which covered half of my thighs. I removed my hair tie and let my hair fall on my shoulders and smudged my eyeliner a little. Paige is wearing an off white, mid thigh, frock. I put on my heels and check myself in the mirror before leaving the ladies room. I look fine.
The guys are sitting just where we left them. A circle is been formed around them, I guess they are playing a game.
"Hey guys, what's up?" I ask taking a vacant seat near Austin.
