"Hey Ev, party at my house. Tonight nine o'clock. You have to bring a partner too." Noah announces when we sit side by side in the chemistry class. Mrs Paul wasn't here yet.

I smile at him. "Sure."

"And it's a theme party. You have to dress up like a nineteenth century lady and boys like gentlemen." He tells.

I raise my brow. "That's a wierd theme but still.. cool. I'll be there."

He nods and thanks me for accepting his invitation. It's been long since I have been to a party anyways. The question is, who will be my partner? The answer is loud and clear in my mind but I'm a bit unsure. What if he says no? I can still give it a shot.

The day went by real fast and before I knew it, I was running towards Chris to reach him before he leaves. Thankfully, he was busy with his phone.

He sees me and waves. Why is he so damn cute?

"Hey Chris." I greet him.

"Hey Ev." He replies. Aura has made me so used to Katherine again that hearing Evanna sounds weird.

I take in a deep breath and spill. "Will you be my partner for Noah's party tonight?" I come straight to the point.

His jaw drops a little.

"I'm sure Austin and Paige are going and Gabriel will have a fling with him and I'm left with no one so... It's completely okay if you have some important work, I just thought that we were close enough.." I rant.

"Of course." He finally says cutting my nonsense. I let out a sigh of relief. I did not expect it to be this fast.

I then tell him the details of the party. We decide that it'd be better if I picked him up since he is not good with routes. I tell him about the theme. He chuckled but accepted.

At night

My fingers engage with the laces of the corset I am wearing. Because of being on my back, I couldn't tie them tight enough. Whose god damn idea was it to hold a theme party.

"Need help?" My head snaps back only to see Aura looking at me funnily.

I roll my eyes. "Of course." I say turning back.

She walks to me and takes the laces from me. She tightens it, so tight that it takes my breath away. She then expertly ties it. "What's up with the dressing?" She asks while tying.

"Theme party." I tell her.

She frowns. "Why didn't you ask me?" She asks.

"I don't need to." I casually. At this, she holds my arm and turns me around. God this woman is strong.

"You do need to. If you do not want to listen me as a mother, don't. But you have to listen to me as the incharge of this house." She scolds. I didn't feel bad by her chastising. I actually feel happy. It's been a long time since someone has done that.
My eyes well up with water. Pathetic. Aura's angry expression morphs into one of worry. "Did I go too far? I'm so sorry if I did."

Instead of clearing her misunderstanding, I hug her tightly. I guess it'll express my feelings better. After pulling away, I say, "It's not like that. No one scolds me the way you did. I actually liked it."

She smiles. "Be back soon." She orders. I fake salute and she laughs.

After picking up my cardigan, I leave the room and the house. I carefully seat myself on the driver's seat and pull out of the driveway.

I reach Chris's house in a few minutes and pull up. He runs towards the gate when I ring the horns. I get out of the car to greet him.

My jaw nearly drops when I see him. He is wearing beige breeches and a black coat with a small scarf around his neck and boots. He almost reminds me of Mr Darcy from pride and prejudices.
