Clarie's pov
"Beep, Beep, Beep"
I woke up to the steady and rhythmic sound and the strong smell of antiseptic and chlorine. My eyes slowly opened and adjusted to the bright light and white room.
Immediately the series of past events swan back to my head I jerked up and regretted it. I winced at the sudden pain the movement gave me and held my head with the hand not attached to the machine.
"Clarie, oh my God she's awake!" the familiar sound of my Moms voice hit my ears and I slumped back into the comfort of the bed.
"honey are you okay?" she hugged me
I heaved a sigh knowing she'll start questioning me about everything that happened.
"Mum i'm okay" I said
"are you sure" she put her palm on my forehead to feel my temperature and I rolled my eyes then she caressed my cheeks
"yes I'm fine, how long have I been here?" I asked
"just a couple of hours" she said and the sound of the door opening distracted me from her worry filled eyes and to the group of people that rushed in.
My Dad came and hugged me then Sam, Laura and Ashley and Emma and I think the whole hospital because I hugged a lot of people except Eiden.
My Mom looked at I and my friends and she sighed "you all must be the dumbest smart teenagers I've ever known." she shook her head and we all smiled
"i'm glad you're fine Clarie" Brett said, his hand was around Laura's waist and seeing him okay made me smile
"and i'm glad you are okay" I said
"why didn't you tell us or the police what you were planning?" my Dad asked
Here we go...
"because it wouldn't be a surprise" I gave a hopeful smile and he shook his head the exact time officer Rivera came into my hospital room.
He walked in with smooth strides and greeted everyone with his lovely smile.
"good afternoon Clarie, how are you doing" he asked with another warm smile. He was dressed in jeans that held his gun at the side, a white round neck shirt that clung to his body outlining his shape and his badge around his neck. To be sincere he looks even hotter without his police uniform.
"i'm okay, thank you" I smiled
"I came to see how you were doing and also take your statement" he said "I've taken your that of your friends except from Eiden and Luke, they just got out of surgery" he said and I frowned on confusion.
"what happened, why did Luke have to undergo surgery?" I asked trying to sit up but my Mom stopped me.
"relax honey, he's okay." she said
"we'll tell you about it later" Emma rubbed my feet covered with the white blanket.
Knowing that something bad happened to Luke got me worried and all I wanted was answers and also to see him.
"I don't get how you kids do it, first you take out the most notorious cartel that we've been chasing for years like cutting out a piece of cake and you just sent one of their very annoying boys, Chris Dunbar to jail" officer Rivera said
"Chris is part of the drug cartel?" I asked
"yes" Ashley said
I scoffed "i'm not even surprised. And for you not getting how we do things, it is really just that if you need to cause trouble or solve a problem teenagers are the best for the job, because we are great master minds." I said
