Clarie's pov

It's been a successful almost Two weeks of coming back to school, now we'll be going on mid term break on Friday. We've been getting ready for Laura's wedding. And I've also been forgetting the whole situation with Chris gradually.

We got Eiden to try his tux suit even though he said he looks like a penguin in them.

As I sit in the couch in my living room this Thursday night almost devouring the turkey sandwich I made and watching new episodes of the Flash I got a very infuriating obstruction.

"ding, dong"

I dropped my sandwich and walked to the door ready to yell at the interrupter.

"who the hell is it!"

Mission accomplished!

I opened the door and found officer Rivera with an amused smirk on his face. I eyed his appearance once again almost swoon by his good looks, he was dressed in casual shoes, blue denim jeans, a white top and a black jacket but still his muscles found a way to pop from his clothes.

I can just imagine Eiden being like him when we grow up, maybe even much more better. Just the thought excites me.

"you sure are a spitfire, can I come in?" his voice tore me away from my imagination.

"i'm totally surprised to see you here at this time, but yes come in" I moved aside and allowed him to walk in gracefully as always.

"where are your parents?" he asked

"they are out preparing for the rehearsal dinner for my aunts wedding tomorrow night" I said

"And Sam?"

"he went out on a date with his girlfriend" I said

"so you're all alone?" he asked more like a statement

"yes, but please sit," I gestured at the single sofa with my hand before sitting myself on my former spot "what brings you here?"

He gave me a brown envelope that I didn't notice when he came in. "Chris Dunbar's final trial and hearing is tomorrow, and your presence is required" he said and a bad nostalgic feeling swallowed me hearing his name again, suddenly I didn't feel like eating my delicious sandwich again and dropped it.

"i'm sorry for bringing you this news but it's important" he said

"Why, can't I not go. What would I even say?"

"you're a valiant girl and you must go Clarie, to prove he's guilty. And you'll have to say every single thing you know about anything you are asked" he said and it felt like a bucket of very cold water was poured on me.

"okay," I said after a while "thank you for telling me this yourself"

I can't believe I'll be seeing him again... Tomorrow!

"It's my job and besides I love handling your case, I do it with pleasure and ease like you were my little sister" he said

"how old are you?" I asked suddenly out of nowhere, not even thinking and the sound of laughter came right after.

"i'm 23, why?" he asked with a smirk

"nothing, I guess I've just been wondering" I smiled

"you mentioned rehearsal dinner earlier," he said

"yeah, for my aunt Laura's wedding on Saturday" I said "you can come with a plus one" I added

"I will, but I don't have a plus one. I just haven't met the right one yet" he said
