I had planned to drive back to school Sunday afternoon, but Ming wouldn't hear it. He came back to my house on Friday and packed my bags, more like he stuffed them in the bag haphazardly. To make things worse, he announced to my whole family that I'm going back to school that morning because I have an assignment I need to finish but I've been distracted by the babies. Mum didn't give me a chance to deny or explain, instead she went ahead and packed a lot of food for us and pushed me out the door to go to school.

Ming drove us back to school in my car. I was so upset I didn't bother asking him what he did with his car. I didn't say a word to him the entire journey and when he tried to help me with my bags, I snatched them from him and stormed off to my room. I couldn't enter because asshole Ming had my keys. He took his time walking to the door and he didn't bother hiding a smile- like he couldn't see how angry I was- while unlocking the door. I pushed him out of the way and tried to shut the door in his face, but he must have known what I was thinking because he was in the room before I could stop him. With that I exploded, I kicked him once and pummeled his back with my fists.

"Ouch ouch..." his 'ouches' didn't stop me. I only stopped when my breath came in short gasps.

"Why did you do that?" I kicked him once more.

"Kit, it's obviously because I missed you. Ouch ouch, it hurts Kit..." He fell on the bed, rolling around like I'd hit him with something harder than my fists. "...ahh, I'm in so much painnn, Kit, do something."

I didn't bother with him. I unpacked my bag and hung my clothes neatly in my closet. I stuffed the food mum packed into my little fridge and sat at my desk. I called my friends, wanting to get them to come to school early too so I would use them to escape Ming. Ai'Beam was already back but he said he couldn't meet with me then hung up. Ai'Pha wasn't coming back until Sunday. Where are my friends when I need them?

I stood up suddenly when a brilliant idea came to mind. I changed my clothes, grabbed a bag, and walked out. I didn't say anything when Ming asked where I was going. I drove away as quickly as I could, making sure Ming didn't come with me. He can't chase after me either, because he doesn't have his car. The idiot, what did he think would happen if we both came back in my car?

I threw my bag into my locker, one I hadn't used in a long time, before stepping onto a treadmill.

"Hi."

"Hi"

I greeted the person who was using the treadmill to my right, the only other person using a treadmill. There were hardly any other people in the gym. It was only 3pm after all. By the time I got off the treadmill, I was dripping a river.

"Hard week?"

"Huh?" I looked up at the stranger. It was the guy who'd been using the treadmill to my right.

"Did you have a hard week or something? You were running like crazy."

"More like a hard day." I wiped the sweat off my face with my towel and took a seat by the weights.

"Want some water?" He handed me a bottle. I hesitated for a moment before taking it. He seemed nice.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Do you live around here? I've never seen you here before."

"I haven't been here in a while. I used to come here a lot though and I live about ten minutes away by car. Do you come here often?" I looked his body up and down. He looked like he worked out every day.

"I'm considering it. I signed up for a two week free trial. I have a few more days."

"Are you looking to change gyms? You look like you work out often."

"I just moved here. I'm trying to find a gym. Do you think this place would do?"

"I don't know exactly what you're looking for in a gym, but I've used this gym since my first year and I haven't had any problems." I took another sip of the water and turned to the entrance of the gym when I heard the door open. I sighed when I saw it wasn't Ming walking in.

"Are you expecting someone?"

"Huh? Oh no. On the contrary, I'm hoping someone didn't follow me here."

"Mnhm." He shook his head up and down, as if he understood.

I looked up again when the door opened. I know Ming can't drive here without his car, besides, I didn't tell him where I was going. Maybe he called my phone? I tried to stand, intending to go check my phone which I think I left in my locker but my legs gave out. I groaned loudly as the pain shot through my legs. I overdid it.

"Are you alright?" The stranger had a worried frown on his face.

"Probably not. My legs are killing me. I think I went over my limit." I groaned again as I tried to stretch my legs.

After looking up at the door a third time, I gave up on Ming coming to the gym. The place was slowly filling up. I need to move, incase someone needs to pump some weights on the bench. I tried to stand again, as slowly as possible. The stranger grabbed my arm, keeping me steady as I stood. He helped me, one step at a time, to my locker.

"Thank you. I think I can take it from here?'

"I don't know about that. You don't look too good. Did you drive?"

"I did."

"Is there someone you can call to drive you back? I don't think you can drive if your legs hurt as much as I think they do."

"My asshole boy...ah, my asshole friend has nothing going on, I'll call him." I searched inside my gym bag...no phone.

"Did you forget your phone?"

"Haha...yea, looks like it." I probably left it on the desk after trying to get my so called best friends to hang out with me.

"I can drive you back, if you don't mind. I'm done here anyway."

"Oh no no. I'll manage somehow. I can't impose on a stranger, especially not one I just met."

"Hi, my name is Kas. What's yours?" He stretched his hand out in greeting. I glance at his hand, then at his face and back at his hand before taking it in my own.

"Kittinan but you can call me Kit."

"There, we're not strangers anymore."
