I somehow made it to class in the morning. I still hadn't successfully rationalized the events of yesterday. Beam had to force some congee down my throat in the morning. I had yet to speak a word to anyone.

I went to the bookstore for lunch. I browsed through the stationary, wishing that just like I'm able to use them to keep my notes neat and well organized, that my jumbled thoughts would properly arrange themselves while I was there. I don't know if you get it, but that's how I felt.

"Kittinan." A sweet soothing voice. I didn't bother turning around. And since when did I go from P'Kit to Kittinan? "How does it feel to be betrayed by your lover?" I turned to stare at her dainty features. Did she do this? The sneer on her face didn't do her lovely features any good.

"Ema? I thought I've been seeing things, but it really is you." Kas? He knows Mae? But he called her Ema. "Did you follow me to Bangkok?"

"Why wouldn't I? When my boyfriend of four years whom I know is straight, ups and leaves me saying he's gay, it's only right that I see which guy turned him gay. But to think you left me for that..." Her face had lost its sweetness, replaced by bitterness directed at me. Her soothing voice was now but a screech to my ears.

"By that, do you mean Ai'Kit? Please tell me you haven't done anything crazy." Kas finally turned his attention to me. "Ai'Kit, she hasn't done anything to you has she?" I blinked at him, still in shock.

Was she the one making those senseless threats? Because of Kas?

"Crazy? Me? All I've done is teach him what it feels like to be betrayed by the person you love."

"Oh God, Ema, what did you do? I didn't leave you because I'm gay. I only said that so you'll leave me alone. I left you because you're a crazy psycho bitch..."

But if she plotted all this, how did she get Ming to fall for it? He'd never intentionally do something to cause a misunderstanding between us. I walked out of the book store, leaving those two to their problems.

I drove, not realizing where I was headed until I stopped in front of the engineering faculty. I need to see him. I searched everywhere until I finally gave up and asked a random person if they knew Ming and where I might find him. Everyone knew him, but it wasn't until the fourth person I asked that I got an answer as to where he might be.

"He left with P'Forth." Is what the person said.

I drove to his dorm. His room looked almost exactly as I'd left it last night. I called his phone, straight to voicemail. I plugged my phone into a charger and lay on his bed, waiting.

*****

"Hey, Ai'Chart, where did you go last night? I came to your room to borrow a book, but you weren't there."

"Eh? Oh, I went for Professor Wisit's retirement party." What is this yahoo talking about?

"Didn't you choose Ai'Ming to go? Why would you be there?"

"Where is Ai'Ming anyway? He should be thanking me right now."

"Thanking you for what?"

"For helping him fix things with his girlfriend." Girlfriend? As far as I know Ming is dating a guy. Or did he switch without telling me. I'm supposed to be his friend.

"How did you help him fix things?"

"Listen, she begged me to help her get Ai'Ming to the place where she was going to have a surprise birthday party for him. I did it. Good, right?" I ignored anything else Ai'Chart had to say and made my way to the classroom. How can Ai'Ming change his date without me knowing?

"Ai'Ming, you changed your lover? When did you break up with the guy you were dating?"

"Ai'Ram, you're too loud. What are you talking about?" What's with the dead eyes? Anyway...

"What's wrong with you? Did you have so much fun last night you didn't get enough sleep?"

"What fun?" He finally moved himself off the table where he'd been lying almost lifelessly, his eyes flicked with interest, I think.

"Ai'Chart said your girlfriend asked him to help set you up for a surprise birthday party. And since when did you change your birthday? Isn't your birthday in two months?"

"Wait wait, you're saying Ai'Chart intentionally gave me the wrong address to Professor Wisit's party?" Woah, what's with the scary look?

"Ye-ah?" I answered slowly, uncertain if I'd done something wrong. "Woah." I squealed and jumped back when he stood so quickly he knocked the chair down. Now he's running. Goodness, I had to run after him, my precious body wasn't made for running.

He was back at the door of the classroom by the time I made it there.

"Where is he?"

"Huh?"

"Where the fuck is Ai'Chart?"

"Why are shouting at me? What did I do?"

"Answer the fucking question, Ai'Ram. Where is Ai'Chart?"

"Over there...t-t-the south side of the building...I think." Kyaa, he looked so scary.

Ming took off running in the direction I think is the south side of the building. I lumbered after him. Seriously, what is going on here?

I was right, Ai'Chart was at the south side of the building. Ming had him by his shirt collar against the tree he'd been sitting under by the time I made it out there.

"...I don't know. She was crying, and she said her name is Mae." Is what I heard Ai'Chart say. My breathing was so laboriously loud, I didn't hear anything else.

I dropped onto the bench. Believe me, I would love to get in there and break whatever was going on between those two up, but I needed to catch my breath. Luckily, I didn't have to, because P'Forth did.

I lay my very tired self down and watched as P'Forth struggled to pull Ming off Ai'Chart. I've never seen Ai'Ming this angry before. P'Forth made the mistake of letting Ming go after pulling him off Ai'Chart, because Ai'Ming turned around and punched Ai'Chart in the face. So P'Forth just dragged him away. I would love to follow them and find out what's actually going on, but I had to run from inside the building to outside the building, I'm tired. Phew, that's enough exercise for two years.

*****

"Ai'Ming, I come to check on you and this is what you're doing? Fighting? How is that going to help?"

"P'Forth, let go of me. Kit, I need to talk to Kit." I shook P'Forth off, and run to my car but he pushed me from the driver's side of my car after I'd opened it and jumped in.

"I can't let you drive like this. Get in the passenger side."

I did. I asked him to drive to the medical faculty, I tapped my foot impatiently the whole way. I was out of the car before it'd stopped completely. The classroom was empty. Fuck, they're on break. I took my phone out, dead. I run to the canteen, eventually I found P'Beam.

"Where's Kit?"

"He went out for lunch."

"What? You let him go by himself?"

"Why not? He wanted to be alone for a while." I took a deep breath, trying to control my anger, I can't take it out on P'Beam.

"Where is Kit."

"I don't know." I punched the table in frustration, making P'Beam jump in surprise.

"How can you not know where he went?" My voice was louder than I intended.

"Ai'Ming, calm down..." P'Forth again, why is he interfering with me so much lately? "Let's call him."

"Hello." His slightly hoarse voice over P'Beam's phone had me softening instantly.

"Kit...baby...where are you?"

"In your room." He's in my room.

"Wait, I'll be right there." I threw P'Beam's phone at him, snatched my car keys from P'Forth and run to my car.
