Another one where the plot is completely changed so old comments might not make sense.
R/n: Random Name (Female)

Y/n's POVIt was honestly concerning to see the mischievous smile C/n had on his face as he approached R/n and me. We had been standing in the kitchen to refill our drinks when he walked in— the loud music leaking in as the kitchen door swung open. I was definitely surprised to see him, but it made sense he was at this birthday party when I remembered that we shared mutual friends.
"Hey R/n," he greeted before turning to me, "Y/n! I haven't seen you in forever."
I smiled lightly in return and we had small talk for a bit before C/n's smile suddenly turned sly.
"Hey R/n, wanna know something crazy," he asked, slightly leaning in as if he was about to reveal a juicy secret.
She shrugged, which he took as a cue to continue,
"Y/n and I used to date."
Her mouth gaped open as she looked at me for confirmation.
"Really?" she asked.
I groaned and shook my head, "It was in middle school R/n, so it doesn't even count."
Three years into high school and somehow he won't let go of our innocent year of "dating" that happened five years ago. C/n laughed and swung his arm around my shoulder.
"Yeah, I was Y/n's first boyfriend. She's a little embarrassed since I was the one who broke up with her."
I elbowed his side lightly as I quickly explained to R/n, "It was so innocent, all we did was hug and hold hands. We never even kissed."
Pretty standard middle school "relationship," if you ask me.
"I can't imagine you two dating at all," she said as she giggled.
Whenever it's brought up, I always have to remind myself that C/n and I's mutual pining wasn't some fever dream. Since we're childhood friends we've always been around each other, even though we currently aren't as close as we were when we were younger. It didn't help that we ended up going to different high schools. He's someone I'll always have a soft spot for despite the dramatic change his personality took after middle school.
"Mind you, he confessed to me," I declared, making sure C/n could see my smug expression.
His arm never left its place around my shoulders, so he easily reached up his left hand to pinch my cheek, "Y/n was such a cutie when we were kids. Don't ask her what happened though, she's a bit touchy about how I'm the only one who got a glow up."
R/n's giggles increased as I smacked C/n's hand away.
"Uh-huh," I retorted sarcastically, "I was a cutie but you were such a wimp. I was basically doing charity work "dating" you."
He rolled his eyes, "Leave me alone, you made me nervous."
It was my turn to roll my eyes. I don't believe his arrogant ass for even a second.
"Wait," R/n spoke, "why'd you guys break up?"
I thought for a moment, "Actually, I don't even know."
"Umm," C/n smiled sheepishly, "someone told me you were gonna break up with me so I wanted to do it first."
I busted out laughing as R/n shook her head in mock disappointment at him.
"Wait, that's so funny," he grinned at my reaction, "but I probably would've done the same, not gonna lie."
"Yeah, kind of crazy we technically dated for like seven months," he added.
R/n eyes went wide once again.
"WHAT!" she shouted. "You dated for seven months and you didn't kiss her?!"
I crossed my arms and playfully huffed, "That's what I'm saying! Told you he was a wimp."
C/n looked genuinely annoyed at the comment before he faked an expression of hurt.
"You could've kissed me you know!" he complained.
"Just admit you were a pussy," R/n stated bluntly.
I laughed, feeling slightly redeemed now that it was C/n who was feeling embarrassed.
"Yeah, maybe I was a bit of a wimp back then," C/n shrugged before turning his body towards mine, his expression immediately turning into the same obnoxious smirk from earlier, "but I'm not anymore."
Not wanting to further inflate his ego, I rolled my eyes while humming sarcastically, "Mhm, I'll believe it when I see it."
Suddenly, his hand, which was still around my shoulder, pushed my chin up. I raised an eyebrow, completely doubting his resolve. Confident he wouldn't follow through, I stared him down, but not one second later, he quickly leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to my lips.
He smirked when he pulled away and all I could do was blink rapidly as my brain processed that I'd completely misjudged his recklessness.
"Better believe it baby," he taunted.
R/n was gasping from her laughter, her body hunched over as she pointed a finger at me,
"Oh my god, look at her face," her cackling increased. "He got you good Y/n."
I glared at the both of them before stubbornly crossing my arms, "Five years too late, so it doesn't count."
"I'll make it up to you don't worry," C/n stated cockily as he continued to hug my side against him.
"Yeah, ok," I replied sarcastically. "Don't think it'll save your image as a wimp though."
"Aww, don't tell me Y/n's embarrassed 'cause I'm her first kiss."
"We both know that's not true," I replied indignantly.
C/n cupped my nape as he pretended to examine my face, "Looks like you're lying."
I faked a pout, "Aw, don't tell me C/n's jealous that he's not my first kiss."
"Maybe a little," he bent down to kiss my cheek, "but remember, I'm gonna make up for it."
I swatted his face away, but I'd be embarrassed to admit that I made no attempt at moving from his warm grasp. Just gonna blame it on the alcohol...
"Blegh," R/n mocked gagging noises, "Thanks for the interesting story, but I'm gonna leave before I have to witness any more of this middle-school level flirting."
C/n stuck his tongue out at her as I laughed.
