Dan walked into the bathroom
"He doesn't love you, nobody does" Monica grinned, holding her stomach slightly. "Why would anyone love Daniel Howell, the boy who isn't happy"
Dan kicked the tiled floor softly
"You're pathetic" She looked into his eyes "You are so, so pathetic. You think you have a fucking chance with him when you obviously don't. You're just ruining your friendship. Stop flirting and face the facts. Hell- He doesn't even like you."
Dan tried to say something, but he couldn't.
"You should just do it, Dan, nobody fucking wants you around anymore. Your mother hates you, your father wishes you were never born, Phil blames you for PJ's death- and everyone else doesn't fucking care about you." She walked over, a razor blade sitting softly in her palm "Take it, Dan, you have to do it. Doing a trial for murder isn't on my agenda-" She rubbed her belly again "Our agenda, at least. Don't bother writing him a note because he wouldn't remember you anyways. You're insignificant, Howell."
Dan grabbed the blade from her hand, the metal glistened under the harsh bathroom lighting
"C'mon Daniel. You're a fuck-up that nobody likes. Don't even get me started on your older brother-"
Dan grabbed the blade, and put it against his neck-

Dan sat up, tears rolling down his cheeks. He ran his finger over his neck. He hadn't had a nightmare involving his older brother in a long time. He looked over at Phil, who was resting softly on the bed next to him. Part of him wanted to wake him up and get comfort- but  Dan knew he couldn't talk about his older brother. He wasn't ready to discuss his older brother with Phil, with anyone at all. Dan wiped his eyes. Looking back at Phil.

It's not a surprise that Phil had a girlfriend, he was gorgeous. His hair was always somehow so fucking soft, and his eyes were inviting and warm. His skin was pale, but it suited him. He was so nice to just, look at. Dan knew he shouldn't stare, but he couldn't help himself. Phil was the prettiest boy he had ever seen. Phil was the prettiest thing Dan had ever seen. Everything about Phil was so amazingly beautiful. Dan bit his lip, slightly. He changed position, relaxing a bit more. Phil seemed to have been disturbed by the movement, however, as he snuffled a little, before slowly opening his eyes.

"How long have you been awake" Phil mumbled softly.
"Not long" Dan blushed, he tried to hide his face, since he knew the tear streaks would reflect in the moonlight coming from the windows.
"Dan-" Phil touched Dan's jaw softly "What's wrong"
"It's nothing, Phil" Dan smiled softly "I just yawned a bit too intensely, that's all" Which was, of course, absolute bullshit. But Dan couldn't tell Phil about his older brother.
"You should get back to sleep, lovely" Phil still had his hand on Dan's jaw, his thumb brushed over Dan's lips. Dan knew that it was wrong, him and Phil, but he couldn't help it.
"You should get back to sleep, darling" Dan replied, kissing Phil's thumb the next time it ran over his lips.
"Not until you do" Phil smiled.
Dan snuggled back into Phil. It was soft and safe there, it felt better than any home Dan had ever known.
"You're beautiful" Phil mumbled into Dan's hair. Dan blushed. "Your beauty is overwhelming."
Dan snuggled into Phil a little more. He let out a quiet sob. Phil was too kind to Dan. Dan didn't deserve Phil.
"I had a nightmare" Dan whispered into Phil's chest softly "But I don't want to discuss it- It was too scary"
"I'm here now" Phil kissed Dan's head. "I'm here, lovely. They can't get you anymore."

Dan held Phil close. He didn't want to let go. Soon his breathing synced up with Phil's. He couldn't close his eyes, though. He couldn't risk falling asleep again. It was too scary, too real- too much.
Phil's fingers lightly stroked Dan's back
"Breathe, babe. They can't hurt you anymore" He muttered, softly.
Dan hadn't even noticed his breath had sped up until Phil had pointed it out.
"Nothing is allowed to hurt you."

"You're allowed to hurt me." Dan sighed. Phil hadn't ever hurt him before, but he knew that he would, except it wouldn't be Phil's fault, because he and Dan weren't a couple then.

"No, I'm not. I would never intentionally try to hurt you. You mean everything to me, Dan" He whispered the last part of his sentence.

"You mean everything to me, Phil"

"Goodnight Dan" Phil kissed Dan's head
"Goodnight Phil" Dan replied
