"Do you think we should've gone to hospital?" Dan lifted his right arm.
"Maybe- We could go tomorrow?"
"No- I- I don't like hospitals." Dan leaned back into Phil, slowly lowering his arm

"PJ-" Dan gasped "PJ stop please-"
"Why?" PJ growled lowly, his eyebrow raised
"I- I really don't want to do this" A tear fell from Dan's eye "Please"
"You're no fun, pup" PJ hissed, forcing a kiss onto Dan.
"No- Stop" Dan sobbed "Let go of me, please!"
"Fine" PJ spat, pushing Dan into the wall.

Dan crumpled into the floor
"I love you, Dan" PJ sighed "But sooner or later-"
"I'd rather later- PJ" Dan mumbled "I'd really rather later"
PJ crouched next to Dan
"I love you, y'know?"
"Yeah" Dan nodded "I love you too, babe"

"I think so. He was extremely upset by that for some reason." Phil mumbled "He really was an asshole to you, bear"
"I never noticed- I thought it was normal" Dan snuggled closer into Phil. He was so warm and soft. So much better than PJ ever was

"You were supposed to do my fucking homework too, Dan" PJ pushed Dan into the back of the library, a brick wall.
"I'm sorry babe- I-"
"Don't forget again" PJ hissed "Or maybe I will just leave you to rot"
"Please don't PJ- I love you- I need you" Dan grabbed PJ's shoulders
"I thought you did" He smirked, kissing Dan. Forcefully, of course. But that's how it's been for a year now. That was the norm.
"I love you" Dan smiled
"Bye Dan" PJ scoffed "Maybe I'll return the love when you deserve it"

"D-Did he hit you, ever?" Dan whispered that question, afraid.
"No- Did he hit you?" Phil tightened the arm he had around Dan's shoulders slightly
Dan just nodded, before nuzzling his face back into Phil. He let out a broken sob.

Everything about Dan was broken, he couldn't feel happy, he dated an abusive man for two years, he fell in love with a boy who was dating another girl, He couldn't do anything right.

"You deserved so much fucking more" Phil mumbled "You deserve all the stars in our fucking universe, Dan. You deserve every flower, every song, every hug-" He kissed Dan's head, softly.
"No, I don't-" Dan whispered
"You do. The fact that you don't realize that hurts. You aren't a broken person, you've been surrounded by people who don't see your potential. But I promise Dan, I see your potential. I promise everything will get better"
"That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me" Dan blushed, smiling. He couldn't stop smiling, actually. After about five minutes, he noticed that this warm feeling hadn't left him.

"Phil-" Dan was panicked, except it wasn't a bad panic.
"Bear- What's wrong?" Phil sounded worried.
"No- It's not bad" Dan laughed "It's good, it's really good."
"What?" Phil asked, smiling. Dan changed his position, so he could see Phil's face
"I-" Dan kissed Phil's nose "I feel happy. I feel so fucking happy. It's been five minutes and I'm still so happy"
Phil hugged Dan.
"Happy" Phil whispered "Happy suits you so well, bear"
"I love it" Dan kissed Phil "I love you. Even though I know I can't love you. I still do"
"I love you too. I promise one day you will be able to love me, as I will be able to love you."

"I don't know" Dan sighed "I want to-"
"But you're afraid?" Phil finished Dan's sentence
"I don't like the concept of sex. That's why I don't want to get married"
"If they really loved you, they wouldn't do anything you didn't want to" Phil smiled
"Who are you implying, Lester?" Dan blushed
"I never implied anyone, Howell." Phil raised his eyebrow.
"Shutthefuckup-" Dan rushed, before kissing him.

"Another day, another secret date with the prettiest boy ever" Phil kissed Dan's cheek
