Dear Ophelia,
Merry Christmas.
You ask many questions for a young girl. Careful where your inquisition takes you, dear child, I'm afraid I cannot answer all your questions.
From a literal sense, the tree of knowledge of good and evil represents the freedom to obey or to disobey. But, my days, Ophelia, think of the depravity behind the carrot-dangling, the very insecurity that birthed the urge to tempt. This is very much likened to putting steak on the floor and telling your dog not to eat it. In reference to your latter statement, 'if he knew Eve was going to eat it!', the easiest way to explain is that... no ideology is without flaw.
How would humans be had Eve not consumed the fruit? Excellent question. I am not in the position to deconstruct one of the biggest ideologies in the world... at least not anymore.
But I will say one thing. Without religion, men will seek chaos. The 'God' you know isn't as perfect and as all-loving as the Bible makes him out to be. Not that the Codex Sinaiticus, the first manuscript of the Bible, was accurate to begin with. With unreliably vague language, it is the fault of no person that interpretations made from the Codex are as erroneous as they are.
I certainly can 'kill' Kelly, but it comes with a price. Why does she get on your nerves?
Why do you want so many animals, Ophelia? Go spend time with your bunny so named Behemoth, he may die any time. Ha. Ha.
Yours truly,
Satan
