In the next morning...

Ever since Petra came, she begun to take some of Mikasa's duty for Captain Levi in such a way Mikasa felt alarmed by it. She begun making and serving tea for him. In fact, Petra took most of her time with Captain Levi.

Heichou, Hanji and Petra usually get themselves gathered in one spot to hangout and chat for a while. On the other hand, Mikasa would take her time with Eren, Armin, Jean, Sasha and Connie. Mikasa wanted to be with Captain Levi at least a short time but she was unconfident and timid to approach him whenever He, Hanji and Petra are having their good time together.

Mikasa was still bothered about the long conversation she had with Petra yesterday... As she can clearly remember every word and expression Petra gave while discussing her history with Levi.

There was one point in the conversation that kept bugging Mikasa all this time and it involves something that is serious to her.

"I like the Captain."

Meanwhile...

Mikasa was enjoying the cool breeze of the wind outside the cabin. She was relaxing, but was lost on her own thoughts about things that involve between Petra and Captain Levi. She also became worried all a sudden. She couldn't help but overthink things and get flustered visualizing them together.

She looked up to somehow escape her tiresome feeling.. to see such an endless blue sky.

"The sky is so blue and peaceful today.. I wish my mind would be at peace just like the sky..", she thought on her own.

"The sky looks really beautiful today just like you, doesn't it?", a familiar voice replied a complement. Mikasa turned to see who it was

She felt disappointed to sight that it was only just Jean.

"What are you doing here?", she asked softly.

"I just want to check how you're doing.", he replied and gave Mikasa a cringey wink as he looked like a fool on how he was acting towards her.

"I just want to be alone for a while.", She gave a cold response.

Jean answered in sigh with a sweat drop on his face, "Huh...Why do you always give me that blank expressions and short responses. Try smiling, it suits you a lot better." He gave Mikasa a crooked smile just as he appeared nervous talking with her.

"Uhm... so actually... I came here to invite you to.. if you can I mean, if we can go out for a walk?", he asked politely.

"I'm busy. Maybe some other time.", Mikasa answered emotionless just as she was about to walk away from the area, giving him the thought that it would be a waste of time to invite her ever again.

Instead of standing there doing nothing like an idiot, he cried out, "But!--we don't have chores today! We just finished them yesterday! Mikasa... wait just a second!".

He chased Mikasa immediately and ran in front of her to block her path.
"Stop avoiding me will ya?",he said in an irritated tone of voice.
"I'm not trying to avoid you. I'm just busy.", she answered with an unconvincing reason.

"It's just a short walk? Please?..", he begged anxiously to her.

Mikasa paused to think for a moment and finally answered with an agreement, "Fine... just for now." Jean felt relieved just as he heard a positive answer from her. He leaped beside her and they started walking together, just strolling around the grasses not far from the squad's cabin.

Since Mikasa is always quiet, Jean would often be the one to begin the conversation with her.

"So.. why were you outside the squad's cabin?", he asked randomly.
Mikasa answered with a question, "Is there a problem with that?"

"No.. not really. It's just out of the ordinary that you're not with Eren and Armin.", he mentioned.

"It's none of your business...",she uttered.
There was silence between the both of them in that second. Jean wanted to hold Mikasa's hand so badly but he cant really have the guts to do that.

Jean went closer beside her, . Unfortunately, Mikasa noticed this and provide herself some space.

"Oops!...sorry..", he said, while Mikasa gave a silent response to that.
Jean can't help himself but daze on Mikasa's beauty.

His emotions began to invade his mind set. He couldn't stop the feeling that he wanted Mikasa to be aware on what he is feeling inside for her... His affection for her...

Jean stood stiff on the ground as Mikasa stopped walking when she noticed he wasn't going along with her.

"Mikasa!...", He cried even louder as he was standing behind her.

In that moment, he cried out his feelings.. really loud.

"I.. I like you Mikasa!"

By suddenly hearing those sentimental words, her feet automatically stopped walking in that instant.

He continued to spill all his emotions to her in a form of speech,"Mikasa, all this time I wanted to say this to you. Ever-eversince my eyes met yours... I began to fall for you. I don't know when to.. I don't know how to put things together to make that happen. Mikasa.. I ..."

"Jean, I'm sorry..", she cutted Jean off with an apology.

"What do you mean you're sorry?", he replied cramped.

"It's too late for you to confess to me. It's because... I already have my eyes on someone else...", Mikasa said sincerely. When Jean heard this, he felt less regarded. He tried to maintain his composure but still he felt a huge heartache in his chest.

"Let's just stay friends."
