Later that night...

In the hushed duskiness, he became absurdly restless under his comfortable and soft sheets. He could not tell if something was painful or annoying him. Stretching, he gradually pushed both his feet outward and then turned to his other side with a terse sigh. He tried sealing his eyes making his vision dim. After just a brief moment, precisely a few minutes, he happened to wake up again. 

Abandoning his bed, he left his private room and came pass through his office then to the dining room. The worn wooden table along with the chairs was already empty. His fingertips traced some visible lines on its rough surface and he mumbled to himself, "It's still dusty.. how could they feast on such a dirty table..." He let some seconds of silence fly as he sat on the nearest chair seemingly lost in thought... 

"Captain Levi?.. "

A feminine pitch of voice called out as its echo traveled to the walls and corners of the whole area. Levi responded hastily as his face turned to see her, "Mikasa..?"

[rewind] Before midnight.. just after dinner was done...

"Uwaahh!~", Sasha yawned spreading her arms sidewards while letting the water fall into the unfinished dishes infront of her. "Stop slacking potato girl.", Connie teased her as he also kept sweeping the floor with a broom. "I wasn't slacking!!", she yelled in response."It's just.. it's already late. Do you guys ever feel tired or sleepy?..", she explained her reason and pinpoints the last question specifically to his co-partner 'potato head'.

"Of course we do, Sasha.", Armin answered with agreement as he was wiping the table with Eren's assistance. "Yeah! Of course we do!", Eren repeated that same line with clarity and added," but we can't leave the work undone!"

"Yes, you're right.", Mikasa agreed softly and meekly said in addition,"especially now that the Captain is unable to clean with us." Eren smiled at her and said louder, "Yes that's right!"

"Keep your mouths talking and we'll be cleaning until midnight strucks!", Jean irritatingly commented as a warning threat just as he is also drying the finished dishes with a blanket "Men.. Jean you sounded like an old man", Connie butted in as he heard this somewhere before.

"Hey! Mind your own businesses and just do your job!", Jean said this with a louder volume. A headbutt aggressively hit Jean's forehead as he walked a few steps backward from dizziness. "What the hell Eren!", he shouted as his anger surges through his veins.

Mikasa instantly held Eren after his attack to Jean. He still struggled with pride as his strength. "Quit shouting like you're our boss horse-face!", he exclaimed with dominance. "-as if you're not doing the same thing Eren!", he followed up his statement.

Armin swiftly went between the two furious friends in their small heated quarrel and said,"Calm down now..." The two glared at each other for quite a second and finally as maturity slaps the both of them in the head, they went back to their chores. "Tsk! Alright.", Eren said as he left Mikasa's control towards him. Connie sighed with a sweat drop, "They never changed.. still the same bastards."

Finally... when everyone finished each of their assignment, they fixed themselves before they rest. Sasha, Connie, and Jean returned to their room and to their respective soft beds with haste. On the other hand, Mikasa was waiting patiently for Eren while Armin stays contently with both of them.

Eren told Mikasa obscurely with unclear words since he is brushing his teeth, "Mmmikasa, you can go. You don't need to wait for me.... also you Armimm..." Barely understanding, Mikasa stayed with the same emotionless facial expression. Armin chuckled and translated Eren's words for her, "Mikasa, he meant to say that you can sleep now." Mikasa stared at Armin and said humbly, "No, it's okay."
