Day 2

I still refused to talk to Lance. All the way to his room to put clothes on and all the way here. He hadn't said anything since our little scuffle. Just dragged me along. Now he was trying to get into a different room. The castle is pretty huge, I hadn't been on this side yet. Lance seemed excited to get in, like he knew what was on the other side.

The door opened and it appeared like a normal room, not very different from the control room. But whatever this rooms purpose was, had Lance beaming ear to ear. He walked in and looked around. The ceiling is super high and it's a totally round room, with many windows. "Maybe a little different," I mumble as Lance trudges towards a bunch of controls. He sits on the floor and I sit beside him.

"Help me get this panel off," He says and starts working his fingers around a panel on the side of the controls. I ignored him and kept staring at my reflection in the window across the room. I heard him sigh and then the panel popped off. Lance cheered and blew on the tips of his fingers before adjusting a bunch of wires. I raised a brow, "What are you doing?" I snapped.

Lance didn't respond immediately, far more focused on which wires to move. "Can I borrow your knife?" He asked, sitting up, his hair flipped in a different direction. "No." I said blankly and he growled, "Fine then get up so we can go get one." I inhaled deeply and handed him my knife over my shoulder. "Thanks," He said as he took it, his fingertips brushed the back of my hand and I pulled it away quickly. My face was warm and I stared at myself in confusion at my reflection.

I look behind me at what he's doing. He's cutting wires and touching them to other wires. "Are you sure you should even-" I said and then suddenly it was the sound of machinery stopping. My eyes widen, "What did you do?" I ask, jumping up. He stood up beside me, still smiling. "Come on," He says and pulls me to a tiny X on the floor. Lance started counting down from 5.

My hair began to lift up and I looked around at it. "Hold still," Lance mumbles and I stop. After another moment, my feet were no longer touching the floor. I gasped as my body started leaning back. "I told you to hold still," Lance says, floating beside me. "Lance what did you do?" I ask, beginning to do a slow backflip. Lance laughed and grabbed my ankle as it came past his face, flipping me right side up. "I turned off the gravity, that's what this room is for, it used to be an old training exercise but now they don't use it." He says and grins. "Watch," He said before using me to pull himself to the ground again. "Ready?" He asked and I nodded. Lance kicked off the ground as hard as he could.

We shot up into the air. I gasped and held onto Lances jacket sleeve. I looked down at the ground, now 20 feet below me and counting. My eyes widen, "Too high," I say. Lance rolls his eyes, "You fly a giant Lion and have been a pilot for how long? And you're complaining about heights suddenly?" He asks. I roll my eyes and he smiles, "Just relax, Keith, it's supposed to be fun." Lance winks and pushes my knife into my holster on my hip. Again, my face getting warm.

Lance lays down like he's lounging, crossing his legs and crossing his arms behind his head. He closed his eyes and sighed, "This has to be one of my favorite places in the entire Castle." He said and glanced at me. I was trying to stay upright and not panic. We were still floating upward since Lance kicked. That's just how motion and gravity work. Peachy. "Can we go back down?" I ask and Lance sighs. "Yeah hold on, we're almost at the ceiling." He says and straightens up, reaching for it. We land gently and stand on the ceiling. "Cool right?" Lance grins and I nodded.

"Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen and all beings in-between and more! Welcome to the gravity race!" Lance said into his fist like a mic. He pretended there was an audience screaming around him. "For today's race, we've got the all time champ, the number one superstar, Voltron's sharpshooter, the handsome, the luscious, the lover boy himself- LANCE!" Lance yelled into his imaginary stadium. I felt the corner of my lip twitching into a smile. After his multiple bows, he pointed to me dramatically. "And over here! We have The illusive, the knife wielding master, the prince of darkness and despair, the one and only samurai, KEITH!" He screamed and then made loud booing sounds from the "audience".
