There it was again, that feeling. The uneasy feeling of someone watching you. Knowing your every move is under the watchful eye of another.

I let out a sigh, clutching the towel wrapped around my damp body as I step out of my bathroom. I immediately pull the curtains of my bedroom windows. It was probably just me being paranoid, Aunt Em was right.

"Jessica, dinners ready!" I heard Aunt Emily yell from the kitchen.

"Coming! Just a minute!" I yelled back.

I dearly loved my Aunt Em. Uncle Frank passed away 5 years ago after losing his battle to pancreatic cancer. Aunt Em never really fully recovered afterwards. It completely tore her apart. I moved in two years ago, at the age of 15.

Me moving in brought Aunt Em great happiness as she was no longer alone in the large house. I guess I gave her a new sense of purpose as well. She played the mother role quite well, she treated me as I were her own. But I wasn't and she could never replace my Mother.

I pad down the stairs and into the kitchen. The aroma of pizza filling my senses. My eyes meet Aunt Emily's and we cheekily grin at each other from across the room as she stands there with the pizza box in her hands.

"C'mon kiddo, it's Friday and you know what that means.."

"PIZZAA!" We yell in unison and giggle while seating ourselves at the table, grabbing a slice each.

We make small talk about how both our days went. Me not having much to say as summer was proving to be boring as usual. Aunt Em having plenty to say about Sophie's new Juice Bar opening.

Sophie was Amelia's Mom. Amelia and I had been best friends since I can remember. We were as close as close can be. We did everything together. We just clicked.

Just as I finished my pizza, the door bell rang. I swung open the door to see Amelia standing outside with her usual goofy grin plastered on her face. Speak of the devil...

"Hey Aunt Em, we'll just be upstairs!" Amelia called while walking past me.

"Okay darlings! Call me if you need anything." Aunt Em said, walking into the living room.

Amelia grabbed onto my hand and dragged me upstairs. As soon as we got in to my room she closed the door behind her and locked it. Then turned around to face me with a huge smile.

"I have great-amazing-exciting news!" She giggled. It was so infectious I couldn't help but giggle back.

"What is it Lia?" I managed to say through my now uncontrollable giggles.

"We're going to be working for my Mom! At the Juice Bar! How amazing is that Jessie? We gonna be working together!" She squealed.

"That's great Lia! What's it called again?"

"Zesty." She said, falling on to my bed.

"Oohh the Zesty Gals." I winked at her sarcastically. "I like it." I added, with another wink.

"We get caps, a shirt, an apron, everything!" She blabbers on, clearly excited by the idea.

Suddenly distracting her from her excited state, Amelia's phone rang from inside her pocket.

"Shit!" She whisper screamed while looking at the screen.

"What's wrong?" I asked, concerned.

"I was supposed to be home 30 minutes ago!" She panicked. "I got to go Jessie, I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"

"Let me walk you home." I insisted.

"You sure?" She asked.

"Positive." I concluded. Amelia only lived down the road from my Aunts house. Her parents could be really strict sometimes. Which meant I found her peroxide blonde, pixie cut hair with pink in the ends of her side fringe even more amusing. She really had the 'bad girl' type image.

But it definitely suited her. She was so unique. Always stayed true to her own style. Even if her parents thought of it to be a sign of a rebellious attitude, it was nothing of the sort.

I stepped into my grey walking shoes, matching with my black yoga pants and plain white tee-shirt.

"I'll be back in 5!" I yelled to my Aunt Em before slamming the door shut.
