I slowly opened my eyes to see Louis and Liam. I quickly sat up and took in my surroundings. I let out a sigh of relief when I realised I was in my room.

Harry must've brought me back home when I passed out.

"Hello there sleeping beauty." Louis cooed with a cheeky wink.

"Eh, hi?" I said hesitantly, causing it to sound like more of a question.

"Harry called us when you passed out." Louis explained.

"Louis' here to check you and I'm just here to talk." Liam smiled softly.

"I'll be back in a few minutes Jessica, I'll be right outside." Liam told me, exiting the room.

"Well I already know from the last tests that you're health is fine." Louis smiled reassuringly.

"Harry told me you had a bad dream last night." He told me, wasting no time.

"And this is the second time you've passed out." Louis stated.

"Well, do you have an explanation for all this? Or are you as clueless as the rest of us?" He asked.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Harry did warn me that you might not tell me." Louis said, getting up from his chair and walking towards the door.

"That's why Liam's here." He said before exiting, leaving me on my own.

I wasn't alone for long before Liam came in and sat down beside my bed, replacing Louis.

"Jessica. Are you okay?" Liam asked sounding concerned.

I lifted my head to look at his face. I shook my head from side to side and looked back down.

"Can I hug you?" He asked.

I looked up again and nodded my head. My eyes welling up.

He sat beside me on the bed and gently pulled me into his warm embrace. He held me tight and let out a long deep breathe.

He released me and I looked up at him, wiping away a tear that had escaped my eye.

"Now. What's wrong with you?" He hummed while stroking my long dark hair.

"Well I had a nightmare last night. I used to get it a lot when I was younger." I admitted.

"The same nightmare?" He asked.

I nodded.

"I keep passing out too." I half admitted, I just wasn't ready to tell him about the flashbacks. It was too personal.

"You sound very stressed." Liam said looking down at me and cocking his head to the side.

I starred at the mattress between us, keeping my head down.

"Liam, why is it dangerous for the protector and his assigned girl to have feelings for each other?" I asked quietly.

"Well, looks like you found out some info all by yourself." Liam chirped with a smirk on his face.

I managed to stifle a small laugh. I felt so, exhausted.

"Okay, this is how it works.

I, the protector, am assigned a girl to protect through the protection agency. I have to then sign a document promising to take my role seriously and fully dedicate myself to being a protector and nothing else."

I nodded, signalling him to continue.

"However, if my girl and I do fall in love, then we face risk of getting caught by the agency. If we get caught, we're forced to split up. I will be assigned a new girl and she will receive a new protector." Liam let out a big breathe at the end.

"But if you're really careful, you won't get cau-"

"I wasn't finished." Liam cut me off and nudged me playfully. I let out a small giggle, quickly shutting up after so he could continue.

"Or, just like any other couple, me and my girl could break up and end up hating each other, but we'd still have to spend every moment of the day together because of the job." Liam said, looking down.

I was about to talk but Liam still wasn't finished.

"Oh also, it's kinda frowned upon by other protectors. The ones that take their job super seriously." Liam added in.

"Now are you finished?" I laughed.

"Yes cheeky chops, now I'm finished." He laughed back.

"Cheeky chops?" I questioned, cocking my head to the side.

"Yeah, I think it's a rather clever nickname, don't you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It's fabulous, Liam." I said, patting him on the shoulder.

"So uh, me and Savannah invited you, Harry, Louis and Ashlyn round tomorrow for dinner." Liam said changing the tone of his voice and scratching the back of his neck.

"Thank you, that sounds lovely." I smiled, I didn't exactly know what I was supposed to say.

"I was kinda wondering if you could talk to Savannah for me? I don't want to be pushy but I thought I'd remind you of our deal." Liam said hesitantly.

"Oh yes! Of course I'll talk to her!" I quietly shrieked, suddenly remembering our deal.

"Thank you. Thank you so much Jessica." Liam sighed gratefully and pulled me into a bone crushing hug.

"It's no problem, really. B-but you're kind of squishing my lungs." I choked out.

Liam immediately released me and I tried to catch my breathe back.

Liam smiled apologetically and rose from the bed, he started to walk over to the door;

"Liam wait!" I breathed.

He stopped and turned around to face me.

"Yesterday, Zayn called to the house. He looked pretty furious. Would you happen to know what that was about?" I asked quietly, incase Harry was lurking outside my room.

"Zayn called here?" Liam asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

I nodded.

"I'll have to get back to you on that one." Liam said, leaving the room, looking extremely thrown off.
