Before me stood a massive library. Thousands upon thousands of books filling my vision. Each shelf was full to brim, not one spot empty. There were sliding ladders lined against the tall shelfs.
You're always told 'Never judge a book by it's cover.' But standing here and witnessing the beauty of the different coloured covers of the books throughout the room was too captivating to ignore.
I just stared in astonishment, my jaw was literally dropped.
I was drawn back to reality when Harry walked by me to sit in one of the big armchairs by a fire. I decided to follow.
I stood beside the chair he sat in.
"Sit." He gestured to the armchair opposite his.
"This library is the most captivating thing I've ever seen." I said to Harry before walking over to the chair.
"Not as captivating as you are though." I thought I heard him mumble. However his voice was dulled by the sound of my footsteps echoing throughout the gigantic room.
I sat down in the chair opposite him, only to notice a book resting on a small table beside my chair.
It was unlike all the other books in the library. It was torn and tattered, as if it had been read too many times. It had no title, no author. The cover was a brown leather, with a strap securing the book together.
"What's this?" I questioned, still examining the book in my hands.
Until it was abruptly snatched out of my grasp.
"This ones off limits." Harry said darkly, clutching the book with his two hands as he sat back down.
"Why?" I questioned.
"Because it's mine." He snapped back. "You can have any other book in the library, except this one."
"But I want that one." I challenged, folding my arms across my chest and raising a brow.
"Stop being so fucking difficult!" Harry shouted, slamming the book down on the table next to him. Making me flinch in my seat.
My heart began to speed up, I was scared again. Why was he so angry?
"I'm sorry." Harry said through gritted teeth, his eyes screwed shut and his fists clenched. Obviously trying to control his anger. His apology meaningless.
He let out a loud sigh and starred at me for a couple of seconds.
"I've invited my eh - friends round for dinner tonight." He spoke, surprisingly calm. "I expect you to attend dinner too, okay?"
I slowly nodded my head, fiddling with my fingers nervously.
"You can wear one of the dresses in the wardrobe in your room." He suggested.
"Who's coming?" I asked, uninterested in the clothing.
"I told you, my friends."
"Yes, but who?" I questioned further, determined.
"Niall, Zayn, Liam and Louis." I smiled at the last two familiar names. At least I knew a few people attending. "And their girls will be with them." He concluded.
"Their girls?" I asked, totally lost as to what he meant.
"Eh yeah, each of them have a girl. I mean a - like a girlfriend." Harry struggled to get out. I just stayed silent and nodded, not wanting to upset him. I hated seeing him angry, he was so scary.
"It's quite a formal dinner, so try wear to a fitting dress Jessica." Harry suggested as I began to leave the library.
I could hear him walking behind me but he was a good bit away, keeping a fair distance.
I cringed at the thought of having to wear a dress. I wasn't in the mood of this stupid dinner. A book caught my attention, I grabbed it just before I exited the library. I made my way back to 'my' room.
I was beginning to get used to this place.
"Seven o'clock!" I heard Harry call from the library. "I'll pick you up outside you're room!" He shouted.
I started to giggle, then scolded myself. I was still mad at him for earlier. Heck I'm mad at him for taking me away from Aunt Em and Amelia. But there was something inside of me, right in my gut, telling me that going back home wasn't a good idea, it wasn't safe.
I needed more information before I made my decision on whether to stay or escape. Maybe this stupid fancy dinner would help me gain some information.
I entered 'my' room and threw the book on the bed. I walked over to the wardrobe and opened the large door slowly.
Gowns of many different colours were hung up before me. But one almost immediately caught my eye.
I gently pulled it out by the hanger. The beautiful white silk, soft against my hand as I stroked it.
This was the one. I was never really a super girly girl, but this dress I surprisingly liked.
I stepped outside of the bathroom. The dress fitted like a glove, almost as if it were made for me. The low cut purposely revealed a small amount of my cleavage. It didn't look slutty but instead, sophisticated. The back of the dress was also low cut, stopping at my mid back, just before my hips.
I wore white heels, which were barely seen due to the length of the dress. I wrapped my hair into a low bun, two small pieces of hair lying either side of my face, giving off an elegant look.
I felt good. For the first time in a long time. I actually felt good. Sexy, confident, classy.
But all that vanished as soon as a knock came to my door.
Harry.
