"Look Martha! There's a strange dog in the front yard!" Martha yelled as she gleefully pointed out the window at a random dog.

"I want to pet it! I'm gonna go pet it!" Betty yelled as she slipped on her diamond Gucci slides and was getting ready to run outside.

"I wouldn't do that Betty," Martha said as she slurped on her Starbucks tea. Betty stopped what she was doing at looked at Martha like she was a buzzkill.

"And why not?" Betty sassily asked as she crossed her old lady arms. Martha raised one eyebrow at Betty's tone of voice.

"It's really dumb to go out at pet random animals," Martha stated.

Betty exasperatedly sighed, "Nothing will happen! The dog even has a collar on! It'll be fine!" Betty turned around and quickly ran outside to go pet the mysterious dog.

Martha stood in the doorway and watched what Betty was doing. Martha thought out loud to herself, "fine, go get yourself rabies. I warned you, you old fart."

Betty slowed up to the dog with a huge smile on her face. She squatted down to pet the dog and her knees and hips popped and creaked at her in displeasure.

"Hey doggy, you're really cute. I used to have a cute dog like you... and then it ran out into heavy moving traffic when I tried to hug it. I always wonder why it did that," Betty said.

Betty stuck her hand to let the dog sniff it before she started to petting it. The dog sniffed her hand and then let out a guttural growl from its slightly frothy mouth. Betty laughed it off and put her hand on the dogs head.

Suddenly, the dog latched onto Betty's arm and started shaking it's head. Betty loud out a scream and shook the dog off.

Martha just stood there from afar in the doorway slurping on her tea.

"Ahhh, I tried to warn the old bag," Martha said. Betty came running up to the house holding her bitten arm.

"I'm gonna die!" Betty screamed, "I don't know how much longer I have to live! Tell my ex husbands that I still hate them! All 12 of them! And if any of my grandkids show up to the funeral tell them that I know they only exploited me for money! And-" Betty started to ramble but Martha cut her of.

"Betty stop being ridiculous. You'll be fine! As long as the dog didn't have a foamy mouth then you're all good!" Martha joked. Betty went silent.

"What does it mean if the dog had a foamy mouth?" Betty asked with a hint of fear.

"Uhhh... it would mean that the dog was infected with a weredog virus and that hmm... you'll be turning into a dog soon," Martha nonchalantly lied to Betty. Betty's eyes went very wide.

Betty stared at her arm that had begun gushing blood in pure horror.

"M-Martha... I've been bitten by an infected dog! It had a frothy mouth and everything!" Betty began freaking out. "I need to go! I need to leave before I turn and hurt you!"

Betty got up and bolted out of the house. Martha was quick to try and follow her, but her old lady hips failed her.  By time Martha got up and out the door Betty had already started up her Bentley and sped off.

"What is this old crazy psycho woman doing?! Did you not catch that I was lying! That old coop acts like she has a pea sized brain sometimes!" Martha exclaimed angrily as she got shoes on and trapped her keys.

Martha tracked Betty's phone all the way to where she was: Walmart. Of course Betty chose Walmart to "change" into a weredog. It was her least favorite place on earth, so she didn't care what she would break if she "changed" there.

Martha arrived at Walmart and saw Betty's Bentley. She parked next to the Bentley and was afraid of what she would find.

As Martha got up to the entrance of Walmart people could be heard yelling and running out. "Ohhh boy," Martha thought, "what has she done now?"

When Martha walked in it was chaos. Betty was spastically yelling and writhing on the floor. Martha was in complete shock.

"What in earth are you doing Betty?!?" Martha yelled at her.

"Martha! What are you doing here?! I'm going to turn into a weredog and I'm going to hurt you! You need to leave!" Betty screamed at Martha.

Martha just stood there and stared at Betty in complete shock. Martha didn't think Betty was dumb enough to believe what she had said.

Suddenly, Betty tore off her shirt and started growling.

"What are you doing Betty?!?" Martha screamed at her it utter shock.

"Leave! I'm changing!" Betty replied.

  "But-" Martha started.

  "NO! Leave!" Betty interrupted.

"But Bett-" Martha tried to start again, but she was interrupted again by Betty growling. When Betty started growling again cops came in and lifted Betty up by her arms.

"Goodbye Martha! You're the one person I truly love in this world! Have a gre-" Betty started but Martha finally cut her off.

"Betty you're not turning into a weredog. I was joking, but you took it differently and actually believed me," Martha finally spilled the truth.

Betty stopped moving while the police kept escorting her out by her arms.

"You lied to me?!?" Betty yelled out at Martha as the distance between them grew.

"I'm sorry! I'll try to bail you out! But I think you also might have rabies! You're kinda foaming at the mouth there, hun!" Martha yelled at Betty as she was put into a police car.

As the police car drove off you could faintly hear Betty yelling.

"I hate you Martha!" Betty yelled as Martha went back to her car to go home.

Martha got back into her Porsche and took Betty's Bentley keys with her.

"Maybe I'll finally get some peace and quiet. I'll be there to get her tomorrow from the holding station. She should be fine," Martha thought out loud.

That night Martha ate Betty's ice cream, binged her favorite show, and slept until 1 pm; completely forgetting about her friend that she should pick up.

Whoopsy.
