XXVI

joy's pov

After chatting about my eating distorter for quite a bit, Dan thanked me for telling him. We kinda made a pact to get better together. We talked a lot at the coffee shop, we ended up staying until closing time. He mentioned his plans for after graduation, we would be done with this year of uni in only two weeks. The days seemed slower though when Dan was around, we spent almost every day together.

It was probably one in the morning when Dan came knocking on my door, he said he couldn't sleep. I offered him my bed but he mentioned going on a late night drive. It seemed like a good idea at the time so I put on my shoes and grabbed my wallet. As we got in the car, Dan fumbled with a few CDs.

"What do you wanna hear?" he asked. I quickly skimmed through his selection of music before spotting an aux chord in his glove box. I picked it up and gave him a quick smile

"How about some actual good music" I said, plugging in my phone to the aux. Dan laughed a bit so I guess he didn't mind. He didn't tell me where we were driving, he just started going wherever. 

The drive consisted of us singing loudly through the vacant streets. It was almost like a music video, his smile was so wide and my hands were out the window. Before we knew it, the minutes turned to hours and it was now about three 

"We should head back, I've got an eight o'clock lecture" Dan yelled over the music. I laughed and turned down the song

"Do what you want mate, but I'm energized as fuuuuuck" I slurred. I wasn't even intoxicated, but being with him was enough. I think I'm falling for this boy.

"Fuck it" he said as he cranked the volume to full blast. We both laughed some more as Dan revved the engine at a stop light. 

dan's pov

I was now tired as shit, but Joy seemed to give me more energy. She radiated light as we speed through the streets. I put my hand in hers, I knew it was a bad idea,  but she just smiled as she put the other out the window. I've never seen her having this much fun, I don't think I've ever had this much fun. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm falling for this girl
