Barry was sad. The fricking Vikings lost!
"Ok, Cisco, what do I have to do since I lost the bet?" Barry asked sadly. "Hey, man I know what you're going through. I was cheering for them too. I just didn't have any faith in them, apparently for good reason." Barry nodded. "Of course. I never doubted it."
...
Cisco felt super guilty. He had actually vibed the Vikings lose. He had cheated.
...
"Well, I have to set someone up to go on a date with Lisa. Apparently, this friend of hers needs a date so she doesn't have to hang out with him. Also, you need to stay for the entire date." Barry smiled. "It's a man?" he asked. Cisco nodded. He knew Barry's sexuality. "Sure. I'm assuming it's a blind date?" Barry asked. Cisco once again nodded. "Yep. Since you never go out on any dates or ever get laid!"
A brief moment of grief was apparent on Barry's face. It was so brief, Cisco almost missed it. But, being the good friend he was, he didn't.
Being a bad friend, he dismissed it.
...
Lisa knew that this could go two ways: A, Len would take so much offense, he'd agree to go on a blind date, or B, he'd just ignore her. She had to make sure that it went plan A, not B, or else she was busted.
...
Len was just getting out of the shower when she struck.
"Hey, Lenny!" Lisa shouted. Len turned to her with a frown. "Yes?" he asked. "Who have you been pining after?" If he had had a drink, he would have spit it out. He was still incredibly flustered. "Wh-what do y-you mean?" he finally spit out. Good. This was working. "I mean, you haven't gotten laid in about two months. What happened to getting laid once every other week?" Len looked down. "Barry," he whispered. Lisa didn't notice that he'd spoken. "Anyway, I think you should go on a blind date. Maybe you'll stop pinning for whoever it is your pinning after." Len looked at her. "Ok," he said. "I'll give it a try."
...
They both regretted coming to the blind date.
...
Barry was getting ready for his date. Was it that obvious that he was hung up on someone?
...
He finally decided on a gray suit. He was going for cute. Iris had always said she thought he looked cute in this tux.
...
Len was trying to look nice. He really was. He was really good at it too. He just hoped his date agreed.
...
He finally decided on a blue one to fit his Captain Cold persona. He had always liked puns. This was just a really good one that he was not gonna pass up on.
...
When Barry walked in, he wondered how he was gonna figure out who his blind date was. His question was immediately answered as soon as he looked around. There, in the corner, was Leonard Snart. Curse his damn friends. Please say that Snart wasn't his date...
Barry walked over.
"Are you on a blind date?" Barry asked. Snart arched an eyebrow. "How do you know that?" Suddenly, Len realized that he'd been set up. So did Barry.
"Well, I have to stay for this date 'cause I lost a bet," Barry said. Len smirked. This was gonna be fun.
"Well, do you think this will end up how it did the first time?" he asked.
A flash of hurt crossed Barry's face. When had he learned to hit so low?
"Nope. If you're lucky I won't hit you," Barry said. "If I'm lucky? What if I'm not? You gonna put me on the wall?" Another flash. He really knew how to hurt Barry. Len, being Len, didn't notice either of the flashes.
"No. I'm gonna put you in a jail cell." Len smirked; He loved messing with people, especially Barry. "Are you gonna be in there with me?" Barry growled deeply in his throat, meaning for it to be a warning, but Len took it as lust. "You wanna ruin me?" he asked.
Barry looked at Len in anger, before he just lost the mask. "You know, I was hoping for a fun evening. Even when I found out my date was you, I thought I could get through it for Cisco. I can't. I can't spend any time with someone so selfish. I deserve so much better than just some thief."
Ouch.
"And I don't want to see you. Ever. I don't care if it's on the street or during Flash-duty. Or if it's because someone set you up. So, please leave me alone."
Then he ran out. He couldn't do this with such an insufferable jerk. Even for Cisco.
...
Barry collapsed on his bed. Why did Cisco have to do this to him? He was trying to get over Snart, not get in bed with him.
...
Lisa was in bed when Len walked in. He was absolutely miserable. Everything Barry had said he took to heart. He really was just some thief. He wasn't anyone special. He was just 'Captain Cold', some robber who escaped police custody a lot. He couldn't even keep a relationship with anyone except with Mick and Lisa.
...
Lisa knew something was up. Snart never just went to his bedroom except when he wanted to be alone, and after a date, he shouldn't even be home! Something went wrong, and she was going to do whatever it took to find out what happened. Even get him drunk.
...
Barry collapsed on his bed. Why did Cisco have to do this to him? He was trying to get over Snart, not get in bed with him. What was Cisco's goal? To break his heart? 'Cause if it was, then he was doing a great job!
...
Neither of them knew it, but they felt exactly the same way.
