"Jonathan?," Evan called out, "Are you alright?"
There was no answer; the door opened sometimes to let the wolf out and in, and this time the wolf came out, but kept half her body in.
"Hey," Evan crouched to make eye contact with the animal, "Can you let me in? I'm worried about him."
The wolf whined as it pranced in place, looking back at Jonathan. Evan stood back up and entered to see Jonathan laying on his side, thin from lack of eating. When Evan made his way around he saw that Jonathan had dark circles under, and almost around, his eyes, them bloodshot from crying.
"Jonathan," Evan rushed to his side with worry, "What's wrong? Was it something I did?"
To Evan's surprise Jonathan shook his head to say no. Evan would think it would be something he did because of everything that has happened.
"Why are you hurting?," he asked.
Jonathan started to cry again; Evan wrapped his arms around Jonathan, burying the man's face in his shoulder. Evan then looked over to see the wolf holding something in its mouth. It was a cell phone. Evan was aware of them, he wasn't clueless of their use. He asked Jonathan to open it and tell him what he was upset about that was on it. He saw the tweet on twitter, and his blood began to boil.
Evan got up from his spot and stormed out of the room and out of the castle. He switched into his owl form and flew off towards where the city was. He's only been there a few times to get a few things he needed, but other than that he spends his days at his castle. He spotted Luke walking back to his car and driving off towards his house. Evan followed and landed on a tree in the front yard. Luke was smiling to himself as he got out and headed for the front door; he spotted the owl.
"Oh, hello there," Luke grinned, before his expression turned sad, "You haven't seen Jonathan have you?"
The owl seemed to glare at him, and he felt a little scared by it. Ignoring it he only sighed and entered the house. He was getting ready for bed when he heard a small crash in the kitchen. Luke rushed down and saw a glass that was shattered on the ground.
"What the...?," he looked around, "Who's there?"
A low growl answered him, and Luke slowly turned around to see about four wolves closing in on him, snarling and growling at him. A set of blood red eyes were staring at him from the shadows.
"Wh-Who are you?," Luke demanded.
A figure stepped out into the moon light, not looking so happy at him.
"I am Evan Fong," the man answered, "And I have business to discuss with you."
"Wh-Wh-What do you mean?," Luke asked, "What do you want from me?"
The wolves growled more, one getting closer; the man clicked his tongue, and the wolf stepped back.
"You can either come with me," the man spoke lowly, "Or I can have these guys have their late night snack. Your choice."
Luke gulped as he was forced out his back door and was walking towards the woodland park he and Jonathan were taking a hike in before. He couldn't run anywhere since the wolves made a circle around him, snarling if he got too close to them or their master.
"Where are you taking me?," Luke asked.
The guy didn't answer; the area then became cold as Luke felt snow under his bare feet. They crossed an icy river and went down a small path. Luke saw a castle towering in front of him as they crossed a large, stone bridge and into the building. The man lead Luke down a staircase an into this catacomb like area. Several minutes later the man took out a ring with keys and unlocked one of the doors.
The wolves growled and snarled at Luke, making him rush inside; the door slammed close and locked behind him.
"Hey!," Luke pounded on the door, "Let me out!"
"I wouldn't be making demands," the man looked through the small barred window, "You will stay here for the rest of your pitiful life whether you like it or not. And there is no escape, and this is where your hope dies."
"Why are you doing this?!"
"Why? Heh, well..."
Luke took paces back as the man entered, his eyes just glowing red now. He took out a gloved hand and made a swirling motion until a ball of fog appeared in his palm.
"See for yourself."
Luke squinted as an image appeared in the middle; Jonathan was sitting on a bed, a comforter wrapped around him as a wolf rested its head on his lap while he slowly scratched behind its ears. He looked absolutely defeated, lost, tired, and depressed. Luke continued to look as the guy let the orb float as he circled the man.
"You left him to DIE out here, alone," the guy continued to speak, "He was hurt, wounded, cold, and afraid, and instead of going to go look for him you leave him to ROT."
Luke was in remorse, knowing that he had just assumed the worse and left. He saw tears fall from Jonathan's eyes as the wolf licked them away. The man snapped his fingers and the fog diminished.
"Now, you'll pay for it," wolves walked in, "And you better pray that you'd EVER want to see him again."
Luke started backing up into a corner as the wolves approached him.
"AAAHHH!," he screamed as they pounced on him.
Jonathan sat up when he thought he heard a scream, but ignored it and brushed it off as his imagination. He began to feel hungry, and stood on his shakey feet to go look for Evan, with a thin blanket wrapped around his shoulders. The wolf went right by his side to help him in case he collapsed or anything. Jonathan made his way down the staircase when Evan appeared from the small one that lead to the locked door down below. He immediately went to Jonathan's side.
"What are you doing out of bed?," he asked, "You're tired."
"I'm hungry," Jonathan murmured.
"I'll get you some food; let's lay you down in the living room."
Evan guided Jonathan to the couch and rushed off to get him something to eat. The wolf hopped up on the couch and laid next to Jonathan.
"I should give you a name," Jonathan chortled, "How about Crystal?"
The wolf yipped, wagging her tail in approval. Jonathan hugged her close while she licked his face. Evan came back in with some tomato soup and insisted to feed Jonathan himself, despite the brunette he could do it himself. After that Jonathan was now taking a bubble bath in Evan's personal bathroom, Evan washing his hair in a basin as he relaxed.
"...Thank you," Jonathan whispered.
Evan stopped for a moment, smiling before continuing.
"Anything for you," Evan hummed.
Jonathan leaned his head back a little more due to Evan tilting his chin up. Evan wrinced out all the shampoo and put a bit of conditioner in his hair and went through it with a small comb. Jonathan just closed his eyes and enjoyed it for what it was worth. He tensed when he felt a pair of lips briefly touch his forehead.
"You're so beautiful," Evan murmured.
Jonathan opened his eyes a little, seeing something swirling in Evan's eyes before vanishing.
"Sorry," he apologized, "I only want to compliment you because I know it's true; that person that left you for another doesn't appreciate or love you."
Evan lightly grasped Jonathan's face and made him look up at him.
"He doesn't see what I see."
Jonathan diverted his eyes away, signalling to Evan to finish up so he could get dressed. It was night time, Evan making sure Jonathan was fully asleep in his bed before unraveling his arms from him and sneaking down to the dungeons where Luke was kept.
Not like I do, Evan's eyes glowed red as he unlocked the door.
