Jonathan, for the rest of the day, sat in the living room in silence; he made sure that no wolf, especially Crystal, would get in. He kept looking out the window and waited until the sun began to set. He got up from his spot and made his way down the dark steps to the locked door. He took out the first key and unlocked it. Jonathan made his way through the dark halls in search of Luke.
"Luke?," he called out meekly, "Are you there?"
"Jonathan?," Luke's voice rang out, "I'm over here!"
Jonathan rushed down the hall and found the cell Luke in. He unlocked it and saw Luke's gashed body as he shed tears of joy.
"You came for me," he said as Jonathan unlocked his chains, "I'm so sorry for what I did, I know you won't EVER forgive-"
"It's in the past," Jonathan answered, "Right now I'm only here to get you out so you can get back home."
"Are you not coming?"
"No, I'm staying; Luke, I love you, but I love someone else now. I'm better off here."
Luke hugged Jonathan tightly, Jonathan hugging him back. Luke placed a light kiss on Jonathan's ear.
"I'm sorry I failed you," he spoke softly.
Jonathan didn't respond; he got Luke up and went the opposite way of the exit.
"I have to get one more thing," Jonathan explained to Luke.
At the end of a large hallway was an iron door, red light coming from it. Jonathan and Luke approached it; Jonathan unlocked it and opened the door slowly. Inside on a stone pedestal was the red amulet Tenebris told him to find. Jonathan walked up to it and went to pick it up. A dark chuckle stopped him.
"Oh Jonathan," Luke spoke, "You really are gullible."
Jonathan whipped around to see that Luke was smirking, his eyes now the color red.
"Luke?," Jonathan felt his gut twist.
"You see pet," Luke's voice was echoey, "I not only need my necklace, but I needed a new body too. I knew that your "precious love" would be a perfect candidate."
Luke, now Tenebris, walked past Jonathan and picked up his necklace and placed it on. His clothes shifted from pajamas into regular dark clothes, and the black cape also appeared as well. Jonathan made his way to run, but the door slammed shut.
"You silly thing~," Tenebris turned around, "Who said you could leave?~"
Evan was walking through the woods the red moon making everything dark. He then heard a loud scream.
"EVAN!," he heard Jonathan scream out his name, but it was faint.
"Jonathan," Evan rushed back.
He made it back to the castle and teleported inside.
"Jonathan!," he called out.
Evan ran into the ballroom where it was pitch black; red flames ignited on the candles as in the middle of the room was a man rapped in a black cloak, his back turned to him. Evan readied his magic.
"You are a very bad lover," a familiar voice spoke, "Leaving your precious doll behind all alone with no protection."
The man turned around to reveal Luke, but Evan knew it wasn't Luke. He grew scared as he stared into those red eyes.
"Miss me?~," Tenebris taunted.
"Where is he?," Evan growled.
"Who?"
"You know who you bastard; where is Jonathan!?"
"Oh, Jonathan? Heh heh heh heh. He's right here..."
Tenebris stepped to the side to reveal Jonathan; he was on his knees, chained with his hands hands locked behind his back, his mouth gagged by a white cloth, and he looked absolutely paralyzed. Evan glared at Tenebris as the dark mage placed a hand on Jonathan's head and pet his hair. Jonathan sobbed, but it was muffled.
"Let him go," Evan ordered.
"Hmm," Tenebris pretended to think, "I don't think so. Besides, Jonathan has been hiding something from you."
Evan looked back at Jonathan, Jonathan refusing to make eye contact with him.
"Jonathan here has been helping me for the past three nights, being my little pet. I only showed that you lied to him, and he willingly sided with me. He got me this body, and he got my necklace back...What a shame that he fell in love with someone as low as he was."
"Jonathan?," Evan looked at him in disbelief.
Tenebris gripped Jonathan's hair, making him look at Evan in the eyes.
"Go on Jonathan," he smirked, "Tell him. And I dare you to try and deny it."
Jonathan diverted his eyes down; Evan felt betrayed. But then again, he did things back that would hurt Jonathan equally.
"What I thought," Tenebris let go.
"Let him go," Evan mumbled.
"What was that? Didn't hear you."
"I said. Let. Him. Go."
Tenebris was quiet before letting out a laugh.
"After everything he's done!," Tenebris grinned in amusement, "You still want to let this man go?"
"Yes," Evan answered, looking up in pure anger, "I promised that I will love him, and I promised him I will protect him not matter what...I have done horrible things that had done, and this by far equals it. You can say that we could call it even. No matter what, I know he loves me."
"Then let's ask him...Jonathan, do you love Evan?"
The gag slipped off, and Jonathan was silent for a moment.
"I love him till the day the world will end," Jonathan glared up at Tenebris, "You may think I'm lying, but you are deathly wrong. I would do the same for him. You have messed with the wrong people you son of a bitch."
Tenebris had a poker face, and said nothing for the longest time. He then looked up at Evan.
"Well Fong," he said calmly, "I guess then you better say bye."
Tenebris snapped his fingers, and Jonathan started to teleport away in the form of flames.
"EVAN!," he cried out.
"JONATHAN!," Evan cried back, Jonathan now gone.
Evan glared up at Tenebris, who was just sneering at him.
"Let's see what you got," Tenebris said.
Evan attacked him with spells, Tenebris fighting back against him until both brought out their weapons and clashed against each other. Evan's eyes were glowing red as he felt nothing but pure rage.
"Ah, I remember that look," Tenebris chuckled, "That was the same look of determination and fury you gave me the night I killed your parents."
Evan shoved him back, sending spears his way to which he blocked.
"I thought you would be better than this, but I see that you are still weak. Was this your idea on how you would protect Jonathan?"
Evan went in full rage, letting out of burst of pure magic. When it diminished, he went on his knees and panted in exhaustion. He looked up to see his enemy still standing without a scratch. He did give an unimpressed frown.
"Pathetic," was the last thing he said before teleporting away.
Evan was in defeat, but he would not give up.
