Evan waited patiently as Lux went around drawing circles on the ground, having him kneel in the middle of them as she placed bowls filled with a potion in some of the circles.
"This process is painful," she walked just outside the circles, "But this will prove useful since becoming a vampire has held back a lot of your powerful magic...Are you ready?"
Evan took a deep breath in and nodded. Lux placed the end of her staff on the rim of one of the circles, it glowing white with the light going around the other circles. Evan watched as the potion flowed out and towards him. The liquid wrapped and surrounded his body, it forcing itself inside his mouth. Evan felt a burning sensation, but it also felt like someone was ripping his teeth out; he screamed in pain.
When it felt like the pain will never end, the spell was completed, and two fangs dropped out from his mouth. The liquid came out and splashed to the ground as the circles stopped glowing. Evan lifted a shaky hand up to his mouth and felt where the fangs would have been; just regular canines there now. Lux picked up the two fangs and tossed them on the table.
"You're welcome," she hit him lightly on the head with her staff.
"I'm not aging?," Evan looked at his body in disbelief.
"I merely changed you back to human, I didn't speed up your age."
Evan stood to his feet. Now that was done, he had to review a few spells that Lux wanted to teach him.
"It will take some time," she said, "But all in the importance of knowing what you are going up against. These spells will help you when you are in danger. Let us begin."
Jonathan found himself in Tenebris's arms, the mage petting his hair and nuzzling his neck in an attempt of affection. For the past few days, at least what Jonathan concluded, shadow like creatures formed and became guards or things that go wandering around in their heaps of entertainment. Jonathan was honestly happy that there weren't any in the room at the time, but still hated that he was stuck with Tenebris.
"You've been so quiet love," Tenebris kissed Jonathan's neck lightly, "Is something bothering you?"
"Oh no," Jonathan rolled his eyes and spoke with sarcasm, "How can ANYTHING be wrong when I am such GOOD hands?"
Tenebris scowled but continued his actions nonetheless. Jonathan had his arms crossed his arms and thought back on his dream that he had with Evan. Had he truly shared a dream with him? Did they actually see each other? Jonathan didn't know for sure, but he hoped that it would happen again soon.
"Are you hungry?," Tenebris interrupted his thoughts, "I can have one of the servants bring up some fruit."
"...Fine," Jonathan mumbled, "Guess I am a little hungry."
Tenebris smiled, snapping his fingers with the noise sharp as a whip. This small goblin like creature came through the door carrying a bowl of fruit and setting it down on the table near them. It scurried off without anything more to do. Jonathan watched Tenebris pluck a grape and held it up to Jonathan.
"Open up~," he cooed.
Jonathan didn't want to, but in fear of it being forced down his throat he opened his mouth and allowed Tenebris to feed him. It went on until Tenebris had to attend something; he kissed Jonathan's head and waltzed out the door. Moments later the panther from before came trotting in and sitting up on the cushions where it proceeded to lay its head down on Jonathan's lap and awaited his affection.
"Hey kitty," Jonathan smiled a little, "Came to visit me?"
The cat made an approving noise, and Jonathan on hummed. It went on until the cat rushed off and came back with the necklace again. Jonathan held it in his hands and looked at it sadly.
"I can't escape," he told the cat, "We tried before, but I knew Tenebris would know if someone or something was trying to break these cuffs..."
The cat took it back and ran off; it then came back with a different one.
"I haven't seen this one before," Jonathan looked at it, "Was it with the other one?"
The cat nodded.
"Weird..."
Soon the cat had to put it back, Tenebris returning and cuddling Jonathan in his arms. Jonathan once again refused to sleep in the same bed as him and was forced to sleep in the birdcage that hung on the ceiling. He laid down and closed his eyes.
*dream*
Jonathan found himself in this dream like realm again, seeing Evan just across the way.
"Evan!," he called out.
Evan turned around and saw Jonathan running towards him. He opened his arms wide and hugged Jonathan as the brunette leapt into them. They hugged for what felt like hours until they pulled apart.
"I miss you so much," Jonathan sniffled, "I don't think I can-"
"Shh," Evan hushed, "Please be strong; I will not not stop until you're safe in my arms again. I have some good news though."
"What?"
Evan opened his mouth, and Jonathan saw that the vampiric fangs were no longer there.
"How-?," Jonathan cupped Evan's jaw, "When-?"
"It is a long story," Evan chuckled.
After Evan explained about Crystal and who she actually was, Jonathan became surprised.
"Who knew that our little wolf friend was some powerful mage that were friends with your parents," Jonathan said, "And you're saying that you're parents are alive?"
"Yes," Evan nodded sadly, "But I don't know where they are."
"...I might know, I meant to tell you about the gold door that the panther was guarding. He takes them out for me to hold, but I'm sure Tenebris w̳̹o͎ͤǘ̲͚ͦl̀͗͏͈͎d ͕͠n͒ͮō͈̯͇ͩͩ̕ti͚̭̖ͩ͂̔c̸ͦ̃e̩̎͞."
Jonathan froze when he heard his voice distorting; Evan saw cracks appear on Jonathan's body.
"No̤̙̳,̸̣͂ ̮͕̹̈̽̓n̖̝̩͑ͦ̑o͔̔, ͇͒no̼̗͇ͤ̿̋! Nòt̜͌͜ n̶ō͔͈͎͊͆͜w!̡͇̯ ̛̟̗I ̬̐͢ö̘̹̪́͋̌n'̯̈t̏̑ͦ͢ ̀҉wa̰̙͂ͨn͇̥̾͆t̵̥̙ͫ͗ ͎̰̾ͧt̺̩ͤ͑́o͏ ̹̈l̜̻ͩ͑ea͙̖̐̐̋ͅe̷͉͍ͬͣ!," Jonathan held onto Evan.
"Jonathan!," Evan held him close as more cracks appeared.
"P͟l̎̐͗͏̬͚͖e͢aͭͩ̅sͥĕ̹ ̦̰E̒͌̚v̡a͈n̨͒ ̜̳̈ͪh̜̬ͮ͐͞ur̪͢r̳͇͌̽yͧͥ!͖̓"
Jonathan shattered into pieces.
*end dream*
Jonathan sat up, looking around to see that he was still in the birdcage. He let out a long sigh. Footsteps then echoed in the hallway, and he found himself now laying on the ground in front of Tenebris.
"Good morning pet," he greeted, "Sleep well?"
"Sure, why not," Jonathan got up.
"Hm, well, I guess we can-"
"Who's Franklin?"
Tenebris seemed to tense as his eyes darkened with anger. Jonathan knew who shouldn't have asked that, but it was about time he verbally struck back.
"That IDIOT is the reason why all of this happened," Tenebris snapped, "You will NOT speak his name-"
"You're not answering my question!," Jonathan snapped back, "All you do is keep me locked up and never explaining anything to-!"
Jonathan was struck hard across the face, sending him to the floor.
"Do NOT talk back to me!," Tenebris gripped his hair.
Jonathan was thrown against the small stairs leading up to the throne, and he curled up in a ball as he forced tears back. A foot stomped on his side, and he was once again tossed onto the floor. He found himself back up the cage, Tenebris hovering over his shaking form.
"Now you will STAY in here and THINK about what you said."
Tenebris left, and Jonathan uncurled himself and let out stifled cries.
Please hurry Evan, Jonathan said in his head, Please...
He laid on the floor and imagined Evan holding him and whispering sweet nothings to him.
