You don't know what happened. One minute you were texting your mom, and the next you heard a screech and crash. Now, here you are in a hospital, barely able to move. You are hurting every where. You look down, and wires flow all over your body. You try to sit up and the room spins.
"She's awake!" You hear your mom gasp before she takes your hand.
You look up into her face and see the tears start to come.
"Mo-mom," you croak.
"Shhh baby, you've been really hurt. Just rest, ok?" She coos smoothing your hair from your face.
You sigh and let her comfort you. She leans down to kiss your forehead.
"I'll go call whoever I need to, to let them know to tell Daesung you're alright. I didn't want to tell him until you were awake," she smiles at you and your eyes pop open.
"Mom, don't do that," you practically whisper, noticing how dry your throat is.
She pats your hand, "Of course I will. He loves you. He would want to know if something like this happened."
You try to say more, but you are exhausted again. Your eyes slide shut as your mother murmers soothing words to you.
*Daesung P.O.V. "Kang!"
"Yeah?!" I look up from my reading in my bunk.
"Phone call! Urgent!"
I knit my brows together. What could be urgent? I scramble up from my bunk and trot to the phone. I take the receiver from my superior officer with a nod and a thank you.
"Yeoboseyo?"
"Daesung?"
"Oh hello Mother. Is everything alright?"
"Actually no it's not."
I feel a cold chill crawl up my spine. If my girl's mother is calling it can't be good. Fear balls up in my stomach and threatens to come up.
"What's wrong? What's happened?"
"My baby girl was in an accident. She's hurt. She's hurt bad, but the doctor says she's going to be alright."
"Are, Are you sure?! Is she awake?! How bad is it?! Has she asked for me?!" The questions fly from my lips.
"Daesung, she's going to be alright. She's very banged up, broken bones, lots of bruising, but she was awake for a few minutes. She didn't want to worry you."
"Well too bad! I'm very worried! I'm going right now to ask for emergency leave!" My eyes are starting to leak.
We hang up and I rush to find my superior officer. He's at his desk when I knock to get his attention. His eyes snap at me, and I let the words babble out before he can get to angry at me for interrupting.
"Sir, I'm so very sorry, but there's been an emergency. I have to get to the hospital. Can you please, please give me permission to go?" I practically beg.
Something in my voice must have let him know it's important because his face softens just a little.
"What is it Kang?"
I stammer out my request and the very little information I have. I stand there fidgeting as I await his answer.
"Kang, is this person family?"
"She's my fiance," or at least she will be when I get to that damn hospital. They're not going to let me go for just a girlfriend.
He nods and gets out some papers. I heave a sigh of relief. My girl needs me, and I'm coming.
*Your P.O.V. You feel yourself coming back again, and you open your eyes. The room comes into focus, and you see your mom and Daesung sitting by your bed talking. Your hand feels heavy as you lift it and place it on Daesung's knee. He jumps and looks over at you. Your mom slowly leaves to give you some privacy. You give him a weak smile and he scrambles to get to his knees so he can look you in the eye.
"Baby," he kisses your hand as he holds it and places his cheek on both of your hands.
"Hey soldier," you whisper, "come here often?"
He sniffles, "You were texting again weren't you?"
"Maybe."
"I told you about that. Now look, I could've lost you forever." He strokes your hair back and places a kiss on your lips.
"I'm not leaving you. I love you too much."
"Speaking of which, I made a call on the way over. Seungri should be here any-" he's interrupted by a soft knock on the door.
Seungri pops his head in with a grin.
"Somebody call for delivery?"
"Right on time," Dae says with a smile.
He reaches back toward Seungri, who hands him a tiny box. He turns back to you with a smile.
"I've been saving this for you. I was waiting for the right time, but I want you to know now that I want to be with you for the rest of my life."
He opens the box, "Will you marry me?"
You smile, but wince when it hurts your face. Instead you lift your ring finger for him to slide it on your hand. He smiles, and slides it on.

He gives you a gentle kiss as Seungri opens the door and gestures for your mom to come back in. You smile at them all despite the discomfort. How could you not smile? You're engaged to the love of your life.
