"You are the biggest idiot," Daesung says dropping his bags to the floor, "ever to be an idiot."
"You said let's get away for a few days," Seung Hyun calls over his shoulder.
Daesung sulks and squats down beside his hyung. Seung Hyun, busy trying to light kindling, doesn't notice the daggers being stared at his face. Daesung just rubs his hands together and watches. The, would be cozy, cabin they rented is filled with dark and cold. He lets out a sigh of relief when the flame catches and rocks back to let his butt hit the floor.
"You could've picked somewhere warm at least. The mountains in January? Really? I can't believe I let you talk me into this," Daesung shakes his head and stuffs his half frozen hands under his arms for warmth.
Seung Hyun shrugs, "At least we have some privacy."
"That's because nobody else is stupid enough to come here in the winter when it's freezing cold and the power can go out Bingu," Daesung goes to shove his hyung's shoulder but thinks better of it.
Seung Hyun gives a grin when he sees his accomplishment of getting the fire going. He points and rocks back from his crouch to sit by Daesung. They both stick their hands out toward the tiny growing flame.
"I wish the other guys could have come," Daesung says.
Seung Hyun lights his cigarette and nods. Taking a drag he blows it out, "Yeah well, I guess we're having a TODAE weekend."
Daesung snorts a quick laugh. They haven't had time together in quite awhile. Since the scandal that broke his friend's heart. It cut him like a knife to see Seung Hyun struggle like that. He knows good and well what it's like. His face falls into a serious expression. He stares into the flames of the small fire. The cold still at his back, creeps up and he shivers. Seung Hyun notices the movement and glances over. He stops still when he sees the look on Dae's face.
"What's wrong?"
Daesung flinches at being drawn from his thoughts. He looks at his friend then back into the flames, "You mean besides being in a cabin with no electricity and freezing?"
Seung Hyun finishes his cigarette and flicks the butt into the fire, "Yeah besides that."
Daesung takes a deep breath and blows it out. He leans back on his now warm hands.
"I was just thinking about all you've been through. I'm very glad you're still with us." He looks over at Seung Hyun, "I was so worried. My heart grew colder than this cabin when I heard about your overdose."
Seung Hyun hangs his head. Then lifting his face to meet Daesung's gaze, he smiles. Tears fill his eyes as he says, "My heart was frozen. I was filled with shame and fear. It took allot to thaw all of it away. Now, I'm in a better place. I recieved so much love and support. From the boys, my family, and strangers I am grateful to all."
Daesung wants so badly to ask his hyung if the overdose was on purpose. Instead, he chooses to just let this moment warm them both. He throws an arm around his hyung and claps him on the shoulder a few times.
"Well, now we're here freezing our asses off together. Good times," Dae smiles sarcastically.
They both have a laugh that eases into friendly conversation. They break out a bottle of wine just as the electricity whirs back to life.
"See," Seung Hyun gestures around, "not so bad. It's warm, it's private, and now it's lit."
Daesung shrugs, "Ok, so maybe you're not a total idiot."
Seung Hyun smirks into his wine glass as he takes another sip.
"Next time I'm picking though, and it's going to be somewhere warm with pretty girls in bikinis," Dae mumbles.
