"Thank you for dinner..." Lia looked to her flats that were on the dark concrete from the light rain. She usually hated the rain, the uncomfortable chill it would send down her spine was intolerable. Today however, it's not that bad. It felt so cool and nice against her skin, reminding her of the waves waiting patiently for her under the bridge. She was not worried about the dress either. Soon, she would no need to worry about laundry, or anything for the matter. Just relief.

Vex was a gentleman throughout the entire dinner. He would throw compliments to her left and right, but never did he put a coy smile but a warm honest smile whenever he'd make a comment. Lia, having little to no experience in flirting besides harassment could only say 'I like you coat', in the most skittish way. He never once glances to her breast (which Lia became a master at spotting from previous men). Like he promised she didn't spend a single cent on tonight's dinner. She felt bad that all his money went to waste. With every move and word he made she questioned his motives further. Nobody will be nice unless they want something, that's just how it is.

"Its very dark tonight," Vex blandly stated as he stared out into the dark evening. It was quite dark since the moon was gone and it was very late in the evening. "Do you have someone to take you home?"

Lia gave her best fake smile, hiding the thought of being alone again, "Of course." She said cheerfully, "He should be here any minute." She pretend to glance around for a clock.

Vex smiled, grabbing something from his pocket he pulled out a cigarette and lit it with a fancy lighter. Putting back the small box and lighter into his pocket he took deep puffs of the smoke. The smoke danced around him since there was no wind. The light drizzle and smoke gave him an eerie appearance. Like one of those models in the men's suite and wear magazines during Halloween.

In a few seconds she began to blush light fresh tomato, did she just call him hot? She shook her head and kept her head away from facing the man.

"How long do you think it'll take for him to get here?" Vex after awhile, the cigarette was gently held between his fingers, miraculously still lit with the drizzle.

"Oh," Lia tumbled with the words, "he will be here." She decided to be vague about it.

Anxiety ate away at Lia, her plan was for Vex to leave so she could go walk home. Maybe she should tell the truth? Wait no, if he finds out that no one knows she's here he might try something. But they kept waiting here he might know something is up. Oh goodness.

"If you would like I could drive you home."

Lia grew pale remember last time someone offered her a ride, but for some reason she mumbled yes. She wanted to at that moment to smack the side of her head for being an idiot. She bet Vex has some isolated spot set up so no one could here her cry for help as he had his way with her. She prayed her anxiety level kills her before then.

"I walked here so we will need to stop by my apartment," Lia at this point wanted to cry, this was her end. "I hope you don't mind."

'No thank you. I'll just walk.' Is what she wanted to say, but her stupid side that had somehow formed a crush on the stranger said, "Yes, that will be fine." She wanted to now scream. Maybe she's going crazy.

After throwing away his cigarette in an ash tray nearby, Vex offered her an arm, she hesitantly looped her own small one through his. She slightly happy that he didn't wrap his arm around her waist. Together they walked into the dark evening. Even with his long legs he kept his pace slow for her to keep up her her short legs. His feet made no sound despite the small puddles forming on the sidewalk. Everything about his was ghostly. Lia wouldn't be surprised if he were one.

When they turned a corner a small gust of wind blew by and created ripples in the small puddles. Soon not even seconds later, it began to snow. The remaining lights lit showed off the large white flakes. Lia found it odd to be snowing, it shouldn't come for another week or two.
