Lewis and Lia were wondering the mall. The place was crowded with people, it was loud and filled with chatter. The summer warmth was just starting to show so people were quick to find their new summer clothes. The sunroofs let all the natural light sink in, giving the mall a bright natural glow. With the hot weather Lia shivered when she felt the cool air from the mall rush at her when she entered.

The place was large and required much walking, Lia had only old slip-on shoes, who's souls were lost.

So the shoe store was the first place to go. With Lia basically homeless again they went out to buy her all knew clothes and other essentials. Money was not a problem with Lewis, being a ring champion money came in easy. So he let Lia lead the shopping. He gave her one of his cards to spend the money and buy what she needed, only what she needed. He was no sugar daddy, the moment she gets carried away is the moment he cuts off her shopping.

He had tolerance for many things.

But a brat was not one of them.

He yawned, squinting his eyes at the obnoxious light that stung his eyes. Pink tears rimmed his eyes as the light blinded him. Lewis was not a morning person. He said originally that they were going to the mall at ten, but it took him till one to actually have it in him to get out of bed. Lia understood why. Back then Lia only ever saw Lewis out during the night. So it was reasonable for him to struggle being out during the day being a vampire.

Keeping his hands in his pockets he walked quietly behind Lia as she walked briskly with her short legs. She only bought a good quality pair of tennis shoes then was off the the next store with her mental list she had.

She was about to enter a clothes store when Lewis called her name. She stopped right there and turned around to look at him.

That was when she realized that he had a phone call coming in.

"You stay in this store till my call is over. Ok?" He gestured to the one behind Lia.

Lia nodded, shuffling the bag that held the plastic tennis shoes in her hand.

Lewis was thinking about giving her a warning glare, but remembered how bad of a idea it was when Vex's wendigo was looking at him from under Lia's hood. Its soulless, black sockets stared, giving him it's own warning glare. He brought his phone to his ear and began to chat with whoever was on the other end. He turned his back and looked away from Lia.

Lia walked into the store.

"Hey Chris." Lewis spoke sharply. "Any word on Vex?"

Chris chuckled, Lewis could tell that he was at a bar. The sound of shotglasses slamming on the counter was all to familiar to him. "So Vex entrusted you to babysit?"

Lewis sighed, "Yeah, and its fucking bullshit. My temper is gonna get me butchered." He glanced into the store and saw Lia talking to a man at the store. They seemed to be conversing. "What have you heard about Vex." He hissed. "I wanna know how long I'm gonna be stuck with her."

Chris shuffled on the other side of the phone, "Vex is deep man. He is stuck with the Lia's original werewolf mate, and you remember Mark right?"

Lewis groaned, "Fuck, with him around it'll take forever..."

"Oh don't whine, its Vex. He'll slip away within like a month."

"Are you sure its Mark?"

Chris sighed, "The man that took down three master vampires, an alpha, and like a shit load of witch's, and walks around with that cane? Yeah its him."

Lewis was next to sigh. "Well putting that aside, I need to ask you a favor."

"What?"

"I still need to somehow get to my fights so I was hopping you could convince the head lady at the cafe to hire Lia so I can at least get some shit done while I'm here."
