"How do you want to start?" Riven asks.

"Maybe having a pen and some paper to write down the lyrics will help," Musa jokes as she turns the pages of her lyric book so she has a blank page and grabs a pen.

"That is a good idea," Riven plays along.

Musa brings the lyric book over and starts writing.

It's time for me to leave
No more of being so naive
I can take no more
So let me show you the door
So the rumors are true
The things I heard about you
So there is the door
You and I are no more

"I'm thinking that this part will be said instead of sung," Musa slides the notebook towards Riven.

"That is good, but do you mind if I give my thoughts?"

"Sure, you did a great job with One to One," Musa says trying to hide her smile.

"I don't think that you should have the lines about the door and no more, I think those should come later in the song and maybe reverse the other lines."

"What do you mean?" Musa looks at him.

"I think it would sound better like this," Riven takes the pen and book and writes down what he thinks it should be.

So the rumors are true
The things I heard about you
It's time for me to leave
No more of being so naive

"What do you think of this?" Riven passes the book back to Musa.

"Wow Riven, where was this guy?"

"I had a few bad relationships while I was away," Riven says, "I learned from you that the best writing comes from heartbreak and betrayal."

"Sometimes it comes from love too," Musa says, "Remember when you wrote One to One."

"Good point."

All of them laugh.

I can see clear
What I need to fear
I don't need you anymore
So go cry to her
Because you tore me apart
When you played games with my heart

Don't bring me flowers
Don't text me at late hours
My friends were right
They saw you weren't  my knight

I'm done waiting for your call
Everything you do makes me ball
So time to stop the lies
Don't give me your alibis

"Can I make a suggestion?"

"Sure, what do you have in mind?"

"Maybe you should change the first verse," Riven says.

"Why?" Musa asks.

"It just sounds weird."

"If you have a better idea I'd love to hear it," Musa gives Riven a piece of paper and pen.

Don't come to me
With a fake apology
I can't take your emotion
Because you never gave me your devotion

"What do you think of this?" Riven passes the paper to her.

Musa reads the paper, "Wow, maybe you should be a songwriter instead of a specialist."

"Hey, I'm still me. I am no Helia," Riven jokes.

"True," Musa says.

"But I do think that the chorus needs to be longer and changed a bit," Riven starts extending the chorus that he jotted down.

I'm done with the lies
Don't give me your  alibis
Don't say you love me
I can  finally see
You tore my world apart
By playing games with my heart

Riven passes the paper to Musa for her opinion.

"Wow Riven, this is good," Musa starts to tear up.

"What's wrong Musa?" Cherie asks.

"It's nothing," Musa lies to her bonded pixie.

"Musa, it's not nothing," Riven says.

"Fine," Musa is a little annoyed, "I was hoping that the new songs would be about Christmas, not a break-up song."

"Hey, don't worry, this will be the only song we write about a break-up," Riven wipes Musa's eyes.

"Musa, the cookies are done!" Vanessa yells from downstairs.

"Okay, be right down!" Musa replies.

"I don't think that I can eat right now," Riven jokes.

"Well, they aren't for us anyway."

"Then who are they for?"

"The kids of Gardenia," Musa says.
