Hey, I'm back from the dead lmao. I feel really bad for not uploading in forever, so have this! This is short cuz i'm just trying to get back into it!
You had had a long day. Senior year was winding to an end, which should be relaxing, right? Wrong. With the Senior Breakfast, and Prom, and finals, and every other goddamn thing under the sun happening all in one month, you were stressed beyond belief. Luckily enough for you, it was a Friday, and you would be spending the weekend at your boyfriend, Richie's house.
Ever since you were little, Richie's parents had always left the second weekend of the month for a convention with their job. Having known Richie since you were six, you guys had made it a tradition to spend the entire weekend together at this time. Now that you were dating, it just sweetened the deal all the more.
Richie had gone to the store to stock up on snacks for your weekend in, and you jumped on the opportunity to take a nice, hot shower while he was gone. It was what you always did when you were stressed, and it always made you feel a million times better.
Taking a towel from the hall closet and collecting your pajamas from your duffel bag, you locked yourself in the bathroom and undressed. Starting the water, you scrutinized your face in the mirror, trying to make the weirdest expression you could, while you waited for the water to get hot.
Soon enough, you were standing under the hot water, eyes closed and a grin forming on your lips. The shower was the only place you could relax recently. You couldn't exactly multitask in the shower, so you weren't expected to be doing work for this, or studying for that. It was just you, the hot water, and the coconut-scented shampoo. Pure bliss, is what you would actually call it.
And then the thing happened. The thing, which always happened when one got in the shower, was also known as a song getting stuck in your head. A song, which almost always ended up getting sung concert-style into the shower head.
"The seaweed is always greener, in somebody else's lake." It began quietly, as it usually did. Gradually, your voice crescendoed, until you were full blown belting it out by the chorus.
"- while we out devotin' full time to floatin', under the sea!" You hadn't a care in the world, as you sang loudly and shampooed your hair.
"Down here all the fish ar-" you started on the next verse, but something was... different. It sounded different. Upon pausing your singing, you figured out why.
Another voice had joined you, one you recognized immediately as your stupid, silly boyfriend's. Laughing, you continued on your singing as you rinsed out your hair.
"One day when the boss gets hungry, guess who's gon' be on the plate ," you yelled, reaching for your towel and wrapping it around you.
"Under the sea, under the sea!" As you sang, you opened up the door, revealing your dork of a boyfriend leaning against the wall next to it and singing his heart out. When he saw you, his grin widened, and his voice got louder and louder.
"Under the sea!" You both finished the song together; loud, off-key, and laughing your asses off.
"You are a fantastic singer, miss," Richie complimented when finished, coming forward to rest his hands on your waist.
"So are you, sir. Fancy another duet the next time around?" Quirking your eyebrow, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders.
"Sounds perfect." With that, he bent down and kissed you. "Now go get dressed so we can watch some movies and pig out on popcorn!"
