Wyatt turned off the last lamp in the room, plunging everything into darkness before joining you in the bed. It had been a long day, and both of you were happy to be going to sleep right now, but for some reason, you just didn't feel tired whatsoever.
Once Wyatt made himself comfortable, he draped a hand lazily over your waist, facing you. You snuggled into his side immediately, closing your eyes and smiling. Wyatt kissed you on the forehead, his curls tickling your skin as he did so.
"Goodnight, princess," he mumbled, snuggling his face into the crook of your neck.
"Night, Wy," you responded, turning your head to kiss him on his cheekbone. Soon enough, Wyatt's breathing evened out into that of sleep, and you were still wide awake. You gingerly took Wyatt's hand that was around your waist, playing with his fingers. You measured your hand against his, laughing quietly because his was so much bigger than yours. You traced every shape you knew on his skin, reveling in the warmth he gave off.
Eventually, you had accidentally woken Wyatt up, but he stayed still as to not disturb you. He couldn't help the smiles that graced his face every time you let out a little giggle, or the shiver that went up his spine as you traced delicate shapes on his skin. Eventually, he moved, acting as if he had just woken up.
"Babe, what are you doing?" he mumbled, lifting his head up a little to look at you.
"Oh, I'm sorry Wyatt! I didn't mean to wake you up. I just couldn't sleep," you apologized, feeling guilty for ruining his sleep.
"Don't worry about it. Is everything okay, though? Why can't you sleep?" he asked, brows creased with concern for you.
"I'm fine, Wy, really. Don't worry about me," you reassured him, leaning up to give him a kiss, " now let's go to sleep, okay? I'm feeling kind of tired now." Wyatt nodded, and you both settled back down, snuggled in each other's arms.
